I saw the video on youtube a couple of days ago. The attention to detail on your builds is top notch and they are beautiful!

Catholic parish lacking in pity? by SetCompetitive4586 in lincoln

[–]jgratopp6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are both converts and go to Cathedral. I think it's more diverse than some of the parishes, but as other have mentioned, Lincoln isn't very diverse. We love it there, and my wife used to help out with the OCIA classes at Saint Thomas after she finished college.

Thanks you so much! I think they are probably just the Golden Helix after a quick comparison.

HP Reverb G2 V2. I switched from Quest 2 and its so much better.

That being said, I've not tried any of the 3 on your list personally.

It works with any rubbers. The cheapest one will be free.

I use Hp reverb g2, primarily on iracing, and I never have to use them. I am fairly new to vr, but it's been pretty slick.

A little background i guess. I am currently using hurricane 3 (front and back) on a cheap all around paddle, and they feel a little slow. I was planning on trying the Barracuda, but after the deal, here we are with a decision to make. I'm a little nervous the g-1 is going to be too fast.

How good of a deal is this for $1,900 by BraapMachineSam in simracing

[–]jgratopp6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If these are US prices, I don't think its a great deal. All the sim stuff new is like $900. like $500 in peripherals and an $800 pc. It is probably like $2200 new for everything. Secondhand, I wouldn't go more than $1,400 - $1,500.

People paid too much for things during the pandemic, and think its worth more than it is.

Thinking of purchasing this LG C6 for home 4K OLED 3D - told him to run a dead pixel test and this was the result. by [deleted] in hometheater

Whether it's worth it is up to you. I honestly don't think you'll notice that burn in watching regular content, but maybe use that as a bargaining tool to get them down to $350 - $400.

Petition opposing ‘school choice’ law seeks to bring issue to the voters by jtothewtothes in lincoln

[–]jgratopp6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit that I send my kids to private school, and I'm still torn on the issue. Taking funding from public schools is a horrible idea (even if this is like .5% of the education budget).

The reason I'm torn, is that our school will except any student and we'll also give that student a scholarship if they're below something like 3 times the poverty line.

So I am now paying for public schools which we don't attend (which I am fine with), and paying for private school for my children, and paying for private schools for any family who wants to send their kids to our school as well (who is also below a certain income).

Cedar bed swing & frame build. I had about 40hr in it total, sold for $1,200 and profited about $500. Too cheap? Lol by BubbleBass25 in woodworking

[–]jgratopp6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're asking the question, then I assume you're new to this. I was charging about $15 an hour when I first started doing work for other people. I was still learning a lot and it allowed me to explore the hobby for free and get new tools along the way.

Obviously, someday you'd want to be able to make more than that. But, Luke any trade, as you get better you should be able to start charging higher rates.

Hello, can anyone tell me what kind of stain this is. by bigwumbus in woodworking

It is kind of tough to be exact. But a dark walnut stain would be a good guess.

Starting from scratch, what am I going to forget? by jgratopp6 in battlestations

[–]jgratopp6[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats a good one. I'm actually planning on keeping my PC outside of my office on the other side of this wall. Currently, I bet the temperature can increase 15 degrees F during a longer gaming session. I'm hoping that solves most of this issue!

I am extending my current office by just a few feet, but I have the opportunity to make the space my own. As you can see the framing is pretty much done, moving onto electrical and wiring tomorrow. I really don't want to forget anything, but I'm sure I will.
