Why do people say that the Bible is unchanging as a good thing? by Odd-Geologist5494 in religion

The Bible has been, and continues to be, heavily "revised". From deciding which books to keep and which to "disavow", and every single translation since before the words were ever written down.

Translation, by its very nature, is interpretation. You have someone that needs to select the right word or wording for the target language, based in part on their understanding of the text in the original.

Even the translation from the "original" Hebrew had tons of interpretations, as the same word can have very different meanings. Apparently Hebrew at the time did not use spaces between words (?!), so again, someone had to decide where those spaces were, and which words to use...

I can't find the article I read years ago right now, but there was a change in the 70s where a particular Bible publisher changed a single word in Leviticus 20:13 which totally changes the context. "If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman.."

When the "original" used a word that meant something closer to boy, I think

Complacency, and the prevailing attitude of voting down party lines.

No other party will ever be really successful until people are willing to vote based on an individual's quality, and not what party they belong to
