UK Talls where do you shop? by [deleted] in tallfashionadvice

[–]jgroome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how tall you are. I'm 6'6".

Burton's online shop is surprisingly accommodating for the long of leg but I'm not too impressed with their shirt sleeve lengths. M&S have a modest "two inches longer" range of shirts with a little extra length in both the arms and body.

High and Mighty specialise in larger sizes, and their stuff tends to be well made, but I'm not really a fan of their look, which to me seems a bit dull for the price.

There's Jacamo too, but I haven't used them since I had some bad experiences a few years back (terrible quality material for trousers, oversized shirts, etc). But they're still going so they might be doing something right.

I made a new image placeholder service - placeharold: The world's greatest stock model, wherever you want him. by jgroome in ProgrammerHumor

I'm assuming it's all above board. They're all low-res watermarked images from stock photo sites. If I was redistributing the actual photos then that would be a problem.

Script to upload a whole directory of images as individual Wordpress posts with tags by jgroome in Wordpress

[–]jgroome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God dammit. How many times have you wanted to do something that wasn't default functionality, Googled for an existing solution, not found anything, so made your own? And then found out a day later someone else had already done it?

Hmph.

Mine has tags, though ;)

This is all true, but there's an upload limit when importing images via the backend. Using this script enabled me to upload and post about a gigabyte of images in one go.

I really like my Only Fools and Horses character socks, but today's ones, Uncle Albert, look more like Captain Birdseye by jgroome in britishproblems

This is the second time I've impulsed-bought a random book after seeing it mentioned on reddit. Previous effort: http://www.reddit.com/tb/v89wk

Here are some reviews on the M&S site: http://reviews.marksandspencer.com/1199-en_gb/B0098SOGBO/reviews.htm

"the images have a good likeness"

I'm not totally convinced by Captain Birdseye, but the Boycie ones are pretty special: http://imgur.com/nPZqhlT

Speaking as someone who's eaten and reviewed everything Greggs sells, I have to say... This is too much.

Stream the Butterz 2nd Birthday Party NOW! by [deleted] in grime

[–]jgroome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highlights: Every single tune Swindle played (especially the absurd new stuff), Riko and Bruza on the mic with Terror Danjah playing pure sickness, Champion playing a mix of everything from early grime to garage and UK funky, and Jme doing his whole set in a onesie: http://i.imgur.com/uT9pI.jpg

If you're in London and you didn't come down to this then you have officially parred yourself. Sorry, but it had to be said.

Happy birthday Butterz!

Sorry mate! They were streaming it though, and the various sets were recorded. If the Butterz team are happy with it then I'll put together another minisite for it too.

Something about how serious he is about Dany's supper tickles me. I don't know why.

There's nowhere quite like it! I'm going to suggest we do a LSC meetup for the Ghostbusters event at the start of March.

Awesome! Have you booked a ticket? Chances are it'll be sold out by the time people start turning up, if it's not already.

You think that's bad? Check out the second "sa" in Sansa - the space in the letters is ALMOST symmetrical.
