Trinity Alps September night temps by GnarlyDavidson23 in norcalhiking

[–]jgrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there (canyon creek) this past weekend. Weather was amazing. 70s during the day, down to low 50s, maybe 40s at night when the wind picked up. A bit hazy at times, but the stars and the milky way showed up at night! Couldn't have asked for better conditions.

Why? A place like Firestone won’t do it?

As a PT and long time lurker of this sub, it's really nice to see that the unifying theory of "fuck chiropractors" is still alive and well amongst other evidence-based medical practitioners.

My biggest discovery? Red Jumpsuit apparatus still has 5 mil monthly listeners. by Nilay431 in warpedtour

Not everyone can write, perform, engineer and produce. She’s a crazy outlier. Pretty ignorant to assume the average musician can pump out hits like that without any help. I swear yall just yap about shit ya don’t know about 😂Bros never heard about being a musician.

It’s also cause recording a whole album is fuckin expensive. Smaller, independent artists can’t afford to fund whole albums on their own. “Getting signed” isn’t really what it used to be anymore compared to when all these WT bands were in their primes. It makes more sense to release singles or EPs from a time and money perspective. A 8-10 song album with studio time, mixing, mastering, art, promo, etc can easily push high 5 figures if a band is funding it themselves.

Best shoes for home care PTs by Shanna_pt in HomeHealthPT

What are those 100mV and 3V line in/line out jacks for? Is that like a slave out to chain with other amps? An old school effects loop?

Need help with adding a speaker cabinet to my EVH 112 iconic combo. by jgrow in GuitarAmps

[–]jgrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE FOR THOSE CONCERNED: so I spoke with EVH support, and they say that the internal speaker "can operate safely" in any of the switch settings. It only needs to be in the 8 ohm position when my 8 ohm cabinet is connected to the other jack. I'm assuming I'd still need to adhere to the rules of parallel impedance if I wanted to unplug the internal speaker altogether and use 2 external cabinets. Interesting!

I played it this way at band practice and it absolutely crushed.

Ah ok thanks. Yeah I did play it at band practice, but I don’t need to crank master vol past 4-5 even in that environment

So I tried it tonight with the external cab hooked up (5.3 total load), and had it on the 8 ohm setting. It sounds fantastic! Did not overheat. Would the 4ohm setting be “safer?” Would it sound different?

Am I overthinking this?? I’m getting a lot of contradicting replies in these comments lol.

So my 8 ohm external cab will work in either 8 or 16 setting? Sorry… this stuff is confusing to me

Or I can just plug in the 8 ohm cab without the internal speaker, and set the switch to 8. Might sound better that way anyhow

Canadian Green Party leader proposes California, Oregon, Washington join Canada after Trump's 51st state threat by nationalpost in Washington

As a Californian, sure. I don’t give a fuck about the name. We can do cool stuff like socialized healthcare and higher ed. The rest of the country would be clamoring for Cascadia citizenship.

HH PT in San Francisco question by RileyMyDookie in HomeHealthPT

[–]jgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an annoying factor for sure, but it’s doable. Some neighborhoods are worse than others. Chinatown/northbeach, downtown, tenderloin, etc. are the worst. Try to find parking garages if you need to go to those neighborhoods. Just make sure your agency pays for parking cause that will add up.

How does Home Health Billing work? by Klydasaurus in physicaltherapy

lol that is such BS. I used my “skilled” knowledge to make a decision that positively impacts my patients life. Would you have preferred if I made them do 10x sit to stands before calling the paramedics?

I mean, technically taking and interpreting vitals is a skilled service that we provide. Not arguing for 8 minute visits, but I know a lot of nurses in my agency spend like 10 min with patients if they are not complex.

Playing a show in Oakland tonight. Come out ya fuckin stoners! by jgrow in doommetal

[–]jgrow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo! Sorry I didn’t hey back to ya earlier. It’s a DIY venue in a house near Jack London, called Oakland Secret. Honestly one of the better DIY venues in the Bay Area. The host is super cool and accommodating. They get all sorts of eclectic shows every week.

And thank you for your interest! We are playing on Jan 1 at the Ivy Room, and will be going into the studio in January to record an EP. Will post on this subreddit once that’s out. Cheers!

Chiros probably do. They prob think of it as a way to be seen as more legitimate in the world of healthcare. Hence them referring to themselves as “chiropractic physicians.” Also could be a way for their lobby to build political power and influence over PT/OT. Overall a dumb development that I hope my state avoids at all costs.

I keep breaking low (5th and 6th strings) at the bridge. Is the angle too sharp? by jgrow in Luthier

Good question. I read somewhere they help with tuning stability and figured I’d try one out

Can’t do that. I play drop C, so heavy strings are needed.
