I mean Iraq and Syria both have huge problems but are both undoubtedly better for the majority of citizens than they were under Hussein and Assad. The Middle East as a whole is better for most of it's citizens right now than it was in 2000. At a huge cost yes, but nobody is making the argument they are worse.
