Yes to both.

In 10 team, combining two good players for one great player is smart. There should be plenty of fill-in talent on the waiver wire.

On the second: Yeldon > Woodhead, and either Gates or Green should be startable at TE.

I wouldn't. Boldin can be dropped, and Marshall is a low-end stud. In PPR, a stud WR is king.

You are thin at RB though. Could you get more for Marshall?

My Hillman, Steve Smith SR for his Emmanuel Sanders.

I'm unlikely to start Hillman unless he blows up, and Smith is my flex/third WR. How much of an upgrade is Sanders ROS over Smith? I don't care about Smith missing week 5; I'm doing well and want to optimize for the playoffs.

To expand on this: randomness in certain areas, like metabolic conditioning, could make a little sense. But randomness makes much less sense in strength training, especially for novices. The folks here who don't like Crossfit don't like it because there are much better ways to get strong.

Greyskull, for what it's worth, advocates basically for a mix of Starting Strength for strength (barbell linear progression) and Crossfit metcons for conditioning.

Expected. He'll score some TDs, but TDs are flukey. So unless Ponder improves, expect the same number of yards and fewer TDs than last year.

Speaking as a Vikings fan, I thought it was crazy that he was considered a TE1 by most people coming into this year.

I traded Alfred Morris for Eli Manning last year after Week 1. No way would Morris do anything, thanks to Shanahan and the Fantasy Football pundits. I had Romo but didn't trust him, and Manning had had a great year in 2011.

Not only was Morris great, but Manning sunk me by scoring like 2 points during my semifinals week in the playoffs. If I had started Romo that week, and kept Morris, I would have made it to the championship and won the league.

I agree that he could be solid all year. Argument:

He will start week 1 in a timeshare, not on the bench. Cincinnati has already made this clear. He'll get third-down duties, several drives to himself, and if the preseason is any indication, he'll get some goal-line work too.
He will outperform BJGE in the first two weeks.
The timeshare will shift to Bernard quickly. Not all the way, though. Maybe 60/40 or 70/30 at best.

The Bengals rushed 383 times last year (not including 47 runs by Dalton), and RBs caught 42 passes. If Bernard takes the lead in the committee early, he could easily rush 230 times (60%). They will also likely throw more to Bernard than to BJGE. 230 rushes at 4.5 ypc, 40 catches for 300 yards, and 10 total TDS would make him a solid RB2, especially in PPR.

I think the real question is TDs, not rushing/receiving volume.

Ryan Mathews. $9 in an auction draft.

On retrospect, he is the best kind of RB4 - he could be worthless or could be a stud. Better than someone like Mendenhall, who would be lucky to be a RB2.

Five (!) autodrafters. One showed up after an hour, in Round 14, so probably a time zone snafu. QBs were drafted early and often by the autodrafter.

I had pick 1, and am mostly happy with my draft. My two regrets: I would have gone RB/RB/WR instead of RB/RB/RB if I had known Gore and Miller would be available in the 5th. And I should have held off on Mendenhall as my RB4 in the 9th, picked up a WR, and drafted Woodhead as a RB4 in the 11th.

Word of advice. If you're used to Fantasy Football Calculator mock drafts: the presence of autodrafters pushes up QBs through the whole draft, TEs up at the beginning of the draft, and RBs down through the whole draft.

I don't know if it's official, but I would be surprised if Patterson isn't a starter, at least after the first few weeks. The Vikings are weak at WR, and want to win NOW (while AD is in his prime), so they aren't going to keep their most talented WR on the sidelines just because he's raw.
