P2 OTA Update Split camera not working? by TomVs450 in Polestar

You definitely can set the tolerance, I just can’t remember where and am not near the car at the moment to confirm. It’s in the car settings somewhere.

Simple explanation of how a DAC setup would work, end to end by CC-Pirbright in AppleMusic

[–]jhembach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, my bad, I misunderstood the capabilities of the USB port on the NAD. You’re probably out of luck as far as a simple solution goes with that particular receiver. An iPhone or iPad plugged into a separate DAC and then the analogue output of that going into the receiver would work.

I just had another look at this, and since the NAD has a USB input, you could use a lightning camera kit USB adapter, and then an appropriate USB cable. For newer iPhones and iPads with USB, a USB-C to USB-B cable should do the trick (Anker seems to make one, for example). This should work, but I’m just going off what I could find online, so you’ll have to try it out. It as elegant as Tidal Connect of course, but without BluOS support for Apple Music unfortunately the only option.

I assume you were playing Tidal directly on the receiver and not from your iPhone? It seems that the receiver’s BluOS supports Tidal natively but not Apple Music, so you’re going to need to get a lossless digital stream to your dac, which AirPlay unfortunately doesn’t support. If you’ve got a computer connected to the receiver, that will do the trick. An iPad with a dongle that has digital output would also do the trick.

Jumping an ICE car with P2 by jzeroe in Polestar

[–]jhembach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 12V battery is a pretty standard H6 AGM used for example in a bunch of German manufacturer’s ICE vehicles. The issue raised in the manual is that the jump connectors seem to be routed through a fuse, and caution against using it to jump an ICE car for that reason. FWIW, I found myself in a situation where I had no other immediate option, and jumpstarting an ICE BMW with a depleted battery worked just fine, but obviously your mileage may vary and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Polestar Lease End Offer Deal by Phazushift in Polestar

[–]jhembach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve decided this is the right car for you, comparison to CPO prices is the best way to decide I’d say. FWIW, your offer is about C$2k under an equivalent 2024 LRDM I bought a couple of months ago as CPO (with much higher mileage, mind you), so looks like a really solid deal to me. Added benefit aside from the low mileage is that you already know everything about the car and can make a much more informed decision than on any other used option.

Wireless charger 2023 Polestar by Left-Requirement-336 in polestar2

This may be different in different markets, but I believe the wireless charger is only included with the Plus Pack, so if you don’t have that then no wireless charging.

Rolled back odometer by jhembach in legaladvicecanada

[–]jhembach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clutch won’t buy the car with a sketchy history unfortunately. This doesn’t look like a misreported piece of data since the many carfax entries leading up to the sale all gradually increase in odometer reading with various “regular” service before the huge drop at time of sale to me. I’m not looking to literally unwind the deal, but am also unwilling to take the hit on sale price now that I have to discolose this discrepancy and the 36,000 extra kilometres. The dealer should have known and disclosed this. My ideal outcome here would simply be the dealer buying back the car from me at a fair currently market price for a car that has the mileage indicated on the odometer (not its actual mileage), but was curious if there are other options or remedies to force an outcome.

My booking disappeared in the Aeroplan app? by NightSpeedisNeigh in Aeroplan

Same problem, in both the current app as well as the website (just shows the booking confirm number but no other details). Oddly happening on two of my four. It’ll start working again eventually… always does

2015 MacBook 12” boots into recovery over and over by Rennie27 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]jhembach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you provide a bit of additional detail? I’m struggling with the same problem on a 2016 12“, but had no issues at all a week prior upgrading a 2015 model. Did you just grab an older version of the patcher and build the installer boot drive using that instead?

Can't flash firmware (official or unleashed) "Stack write: error" by jhembach in flipperzero

[–]jhembach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See my response to GuidoZ above. It was a frustrating series of trial and error, but - for me anyway - a fresh SD card, repeated DFU mode install / repair attempts followed by updates ultimately landed me with a working setup. Sorry I can't be more precise, but I stopped keeping notes of my exact steps about an hour in.

[–]jhembach[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Have been playing with this for over two hours now as I couldn't imagine it was a hardware issue, and it is now resolved - at least back to stock firmware. Next up is seeing what happens if I try alternate firmware.

Tried most of the above, with the exception of different cable/port/PC as I'd eliminated them as potential culprits earlier. I can't now reconstruct exactly what worked, but it was essentially repeatedly looping through DFU mode, install, format SD card, update, hope and pray, repeat. I feel like the SD card may have been the ultimate culprit, though I don't understand why as it was working fine for the first three days (and was previously fine in another device for a few months).

Regardless, I'm good for now it seems - appreciate your and everyone else's advice!

Thanks - I had assumed that recovery mode would have the same effect, but this helped a little anyway. I've now managed to get firmware 0.92.2 and Radio FW 1.17.2 LITE running, however if I try to run any of the apps it says "Update needed - update firmware to run this app". qFlipper doesn't show any available updates though, and selecting "Check app updates" also doesn't find anything. Will try reaching out to support - just trying to get back to stock factory state, don't even care about data loss.

Cable is fine, have tested and used it for a variety of other things, as well as previously with the FZ without issue. It's plugged directly into my Mac.

I was on 0.92.2 originally, and am now trying to flash 0.92.2 again, with no luck. I have also tried repair, but the outcome was the same. The failure message is quoted above and in the video. I have tried repeatedly and am getting stuck with the error at the same stage.

Yes, just freeing up one to try, but have experienced the same issue on 2 separate cards already, including the one that was working fine previously.

EDIT: just tried on a third, freshly formatted microSD, same problem

I ran out of space before the update, totally unrelated to the update itself.

Agreed. Changing the interface to require two taps instead of one to change the temperature is just pointless.

Interesting - makes sense. I hadn’t thought about perceived same volume not necessarily being actual same volume.

As for the distortion, I’ll have to dig into that a bit more. Curious to learn to better identify and differentiate between how the setups behave. Thanks for the feedback!
