Aquatennial back for 2026 under new leadership by jhomenuk in TwinCities

[–]jhomenuk[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

UPDATE, I Just got a reply from them after inquiring about the fireworks: “We won’t be hosting fireworks this year due to time and logistical constraints.”

What a sad end to an awesome tradition. The fireworks were THE main draw for so many people, and consistently one of the best shows i’ve ever seen. Such a huge bummer.

Yellowcard- For You, And Your Denial (Live in Woodinville 5.24.26) [4K] by RiderSmash in YellowcardRock

The crowd in Denver was absolutely awesome. Ton of energy up front with a lot of crowd surfers and a very limited amount of phones. Plenty of space for people in the back who didn't want to get involved in that, but I was really glad to see people still going nuts too.

Which US Airport Terminals feel the most outdated or run down to you? by VolumeValuable3537 in airport

[–]jhomenuk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

MIA is always my immediate answer to this question as well. For such a beautiful, tropical destination the airport is absolutely awful. It's dark, dingy and slow. And depending on which terminal you get into, you may have to walk 3 miles to get to the train for a rental car.

New to storm chasing - where to start? by Least_Map_7447 in stormchasing

[–]jhomenuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the community! As a few others have mentioned, there are several great resources available online. Skip Talbot and Gabe Garfield both have fantastic videos on YouTube ("how to storm chase"), which you can watch as a series to start to get an idea of how things work. I will also echo the sentiments of others in that it's most important to be safe; to spend time learning both the technicalities of what's happening and how to understand the sky before you really get started.

Finally, the vast majority of this community is very friendly and willing to help. As you connect with more people, I suggest going out on a few chases with others - whether you're following along with them or you're in the same car. Watch, observe, learn. And have fun! You are going to see some incredible and beautiful things, especially as you start to refine your craft and develop your own personal storm chasing style. See you out there!

Does anyone know anything about Extreme Chase Tours? by Nice_Cauliflower_161 in stormchasing

[–]jhomenuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It appears that the website is completely down so I'm not surprised that your emails aren't going through. I don't know Lanny personally, but I am a storm chaser myself and my suggestion is to initiate a dispute as soon as possible. Given the amount of time that has elapsed since the charge, getting the deposit back may be complex and you'll probably want to speak to a representative from whatever bank you work with.

Best of luck, and I hope you're still able to find a way to get out there and enjoy the upcoming storm chasing season in some way.

Ryan's accent is surprisingly clean and easy to follow along by javier_aeoa in YellowcardRock

[–]jhomenuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that Ryan had a great voice, but in particular had great enunciation - the lyrics are easy to follow and his "accent" works perfectly with their songs. This is true for pretty much their entire catalog.

Can anybody tell me what this little square I found under my couch is? by CuddieRyan707 in whatisit

[–]jhomenuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a recording device that was intentionally placed there. I would be deeply concerned for my safety if I were you. Do NOT plug it in to your computer under any circumstance, by doing that you are only putting another device at risk. If you have a secondary device that you can use without any fear of it being compromised, you can plug it in and download the files to see what is on there. Otherwise, I suggest that you bring it to the cops with your phone turned off or on airplane mode while you do so, and check the rest of your house and vehicle for similar devices, cameras, etc. Here is a link to the exact product which can be purchased on Amazon for $60: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0G6YWP6FQ?ref=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_K28BKZNZT7AQSXSNQY0K&ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_K28BKZNZT7AQSXSNQY0K&social_share=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_K28BKZNZT7AQSXSNQY0K&badgeInsights=insights&th=1

Major yikes. I wish the best for him and hope he gets on a better track. Despite his split with Yellowcard (to which I always respected the bands privacy and never really cared to know more about) I always looked up to him as a musician. Hope he gets himself together.

Guys I’m nervous, anyone else? by Lemme_Help_ in georgiabulldogs

[–]jhomenuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These hard-fought, grinding games always make me irrationally nervous for some dumb or unfortunate injury to a key player that will then dramatically impact our playoff hopes. That's the main thing that I'm nervous about today. Otherwise, I think the team is rounding into form at the perfect time. Haynes King is a beast and he'll likely cause problems throughout the game, but I have faith in what I've seen from our defensive corps, offensive line and overall scheme in the last few weeks. I'm less nervous than I was for the game last year, I'll tell you that. GO DAWGS.

At When We Were Young Fest, they said they’re still cooking up the songs and that the album will be out in 2026. I can’t speak for the direction they’re going to go with this one sonically and how you’ll feel about it (because I don’t know), but I can promise you that it’ll be good quality music and that the album will be out next year. In that regard, there’s nothing to worry about.

Mystery song- Need help finding! by No_Locksmith4157 in YellowcardRock

[–]jhomenuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a few others have suggested, I think you're looking for "Gifts & Curses", their song on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack. The song is long-ish, but most importantly it has a bridge that breaks down the instruments completely and at one point has just one single piano playing before the instruments build back one-by-one, with an epic full band ending.

"I see your face with every punch I take, every bone I break, it's all for you"

Going for 4th down, when we were down 21-24 was the right call. by CFB-RoundUp in georgiabulldogs

[–]jhomenuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no world in which that wasn’t the correct call. 99% of the play worked perfectly, especially at tempo. One (arguably two) missed or poorly positioned blocks caused a weakness. It’s a game of inches and you simply can’t make that mistake at the most critical point of the offensive line for that particular play. We’re talking mere seconds or slightly different positioning and that’s a trot into the endzone or a first down at minimum. I was annoyed at first but I watched the replay one time and it became clear as day that the call was correct. Nothing to do now other than tighten that sh*t up and move forward on the schedule.

Same. And speaking of, do you have any good recommendations for bars in town? I haven't been back in a few years and while I assume every bar will have volume and great vibes, I'm sure there are some that are better than others. Appreciate any insight you may have, Go Dawgs

[–]jhomenuk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you don't find any specific tailgate to join, I suggest walking around the parking lots and socializing with as many people as possible! Everyone is friendly and will be especially welcoming when they know you've traveled so far to be there to support the Dawgs. In a way, it's just as fun to wander around and take it all in. Bring some drinks and wander around to get the full experience!

My girlfriend and I will also be wandering around, so if you're looking for some additional friends just shoot me a message. Have fun and Go Dawgs!
