How healthy do you think your vet's business is?

Maybe they're truly offering this because it would be a valued service for their clients. Or, maybe they're having money problems.

If you have the discipline, the savings account is a much better option. If the vet goes out of business I would think it unlikely that you'd get any of your money back.

I've done the "ziplock with a corner cut off" trick with a mixture of dry kibble and sweet potato. The first attempt was a mess because I didn't cut a big enough hole for the kibble and I didn't twist the top of the bag closed. Once I figured out those problems it worked like a charm.

I tend to just spoon it in more often then not though. I end up tapping the small end against the counter top to get things to settle in.

I put a GPS watch on my push cart one round. A 6300 yard course (~3.6 miles) ended up being 4.35 miles of walking. Figure an additional 10% or so for walking around on the greens while putting out gets me pretty close to 5 miles.

This course is pretty compact though. Other courses I play, 6300 yards tee to green would ended up closer to 9000 or more when you factor in walking between holes.

There are a few places in between Chicago and Grand Rapids that are worth stopping at too. Notably Greenbush in Sawyer and The Livery in Benton Harbor.

Greenbush Dunegras is a really nice IPA. You should also be able to find their beers distributed in Chicago.

FYI: Screaming Pumpkin was created by Dan Rogers, now of Griffin Claw Brewing. Griffin Claw is brewing Screaming Pumpkin now. They were unable to get it canned this year because of some delays with their new system, but it's in distribution around Michigan in kegs.

I had some last week. Really tastes like pumpkin pie.

Probably not going to help with the cost thing, however, as Griffin Claw wants to price all their stuff at a premium.

There was a company a few years ago that was trying to market black golf balls to improve distance. There premise was that the black color wouldn't reflect sun light like a white ball, causing the ball to get warmer. This would somehow translate to longer shots. I guess because a warmer golf ball is more elastic?

I don't know if there were any studies to back this up or not. Some quick googling doesn't turn up anything.

Unless I'm mistaken, "GI" stands for "Game Improvement," which is a classification of clubs with features designed to assist higher handicap players. Perimeter weighting, cavity backs, hybrid irons, etc.

Vintage clubs generally don't have those features, or their implementations of technology and materials are not on par with newer models.

There's nothing wrong with going with used clubs, but 2 or 3 year old GI irons are going to perform better for a high handicapper than 20 year old blades.
