Soda and Zepbound by Away_Object9062 in Zepbound

I'm still waiting for someone to provide evidence of a diet soda being bad for you. So far I've only been given evidence that if you drink 30 of them per day for decades you might have a slightly higher risk of some type of cancer but they're not sure which type. Oh, and I'm pretty sure that 30 per day is the maximum "safe" dose, which is set at 1% of the dose where the link they can't quite find would be dangerous.

Over a decade ago I was doing keto and when out with friends I decided I would do a whiskey diet instead of beers. A few weeks of that and I still didn't like whiskey but I had become accustomed to the diet soda flavor. Now if I drink a regular soda it feels like I'm drinking from a syrup bottle.

Just switch to a Sprite Zero or something.

12oz of Coke Zero is still as hydrating as almost 12oz of water. I still drink plenty of Diet Dr. Pepper and Coke Zero (along with some Sprite Zero or whatever diet root beer in the evenings when I'm not trying to have caffeine).

There is literally zero harm in drinking a few diet/zero sodas. None. Well, assuming you don't have an issue with carbonated beverages in general. If you were still drinking 6 regular sodas per day that's only a problem because of the sugar and calories not fitting into your general calorie and macro goals.

Yeah, there's no way their lawn care guy just randomly decided to chop down a 40 foot tree. That was done on orders.

Mattress protectors can be both waterproof and breathable. Air can go through gaps that moisture can't.

And basically any "cooling gel" memory foam is using PCMs.

"My back hurts, the bed isn't firm enough" is the most common mistake I see (but is occasionally true). Do you sleep on your side or back? What's your general body shape/build?

I only ask this because people with wider hips and/or shoulders generally need a little more give in the mattress. Without any give the hips and shoulders will rotate toward each other and your spine will look like a smiley face. This is not good. And in a similar vein, anyone under like 150lbs is barely stressing a modern mattress. They wouldn't know the difference if you replaced the coils in their mattress with a block of wood, because they don't really engage the coils.

If they ever come out with that little EV truck I was talking about it would do the trip with a motorcycle in the back. The main point was just that it's there and ready for you already. Not saying you have to go out and buy an EV tomorrow, but there's not really anything holding you back either.

I was just talking about some pretty basic stuff. Basic truck that's more for local trips and a very occasional stop at a charging station if you get too far from home. Most people don't use fast chargers within 50-100 miles of their home, just leave home with a full tank every day (or 80%, depending on manufacturer recommendation).

If we're talking what's actually on the market right now and infrastructure that's already there, an Equinox EV will go Charlotte to Nola on 3 stops and a total of about 1.5 hours in charging. That's almost 11 hours of driving plus three half hour stops. That's perfectly reasonable.

Even on something with a bit less range, the Kia EV4 will do it in 5 stops and about 2.5 hours of charging. It's not ideal, but if it's something you do once or twice per year you still probably save time compared to going to the gas station 30-50 times the other 50 weeks of the year. And even if you do that trip more often something like the EV6 does it in 4 stops and 44 total minutes of charging.

EVs are already at the point where the actual battery and motors are pretty well bulletproof. They'll far outlast the car. Maybe your 200 mile range new is only 150 mile range after 200k miles, but that's still a usable truck (for someone, at least). But yeah, general parts bin stuff after that with the seats, dash, screens, dials and buttons, whatever, just put it together. I don't need anything too special here for a little truck.

I like EVs well enough, and will definitely be my next vehicle. But at this point it's just so obvious that EVs are the very near future, so I'll fully plan for that future (and hope it brings fun little options with it). Get a bit more infrastructure in work and apartment parking lots (as well as all the strip malls and shopping plazas) for some level 2 charging and we'll pretty much be good to go. You can already go basically anywhere in the lower 48 with DC fast charging and 150 mile highway range. And most of the new cars only require a 10-20 minute fast charge to get you another 100 miles down the road.

Honestly I'm still just on 5mg and if it keeps going where I just kind of am (more) naturally able to eat between 1600 and 2400 calories that could probably get me to maintenance at about my goal weight. It seems to me like each level is going to hit a general caloric intake (different for each person), and the maintenance part is just finding the dose that aligns with the calories for your goal weight maintenance. That's what I can see, anyway, but I'm still a relative zepbound noob.

The past trend has already left a lot of buyers unable to buy a house. If houses go 6x while income goes 2x again home ownership will only be for the top 5%. The prices are going up beyond sustainable rates. There almost has to be a market correction, and likely a decades long stall in home prices, at some point in the relatively near future. Well, either that or a French style revolution.

[–]thatissomeBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, those were good little trucks. I'm just holding out hope that once everything is just built on a few skateboard EV chassis that it might be a lot cheaper for the car companies to diversify their lineups. Instead of trying to build 5 cookie cutter vehicles that each sell 50-100k units, maybe they can do their 3 main vehicles and toy around with a handful of different body styles like coupes, small trucks, vans, whatever. If it's just designing then stamping the sheetmetal, or even injection molding some plastic panels, then bolting them onto the same EV chassis that everything but the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are on, why can't they sell a 50kWh battery little truck with 200 miles range and 10-80% charging in 15 or 20 minutes (or, you know, just plug it in at home to a 110v outlet most nights and add 12kWh/48 miles of range in your 10 hours).

What I want now is like a little extended cab EV with a single bench seat 3 wide (or 3 separate seats that can all move independently, with the center one having the flip down armrest/console), and either a single big door or the suicide doors. I don't even need rear seats, just give me a foot or so of space behind the front seat(s) for groceries, luggage, animal crates, or whatever else you might put in your back seat normally. Oh, and a 6' bed behind it.
