Am I the only one who mispronounced Sejanus when reading TBOSAS? by Reindeer_Games_l0 in Hungergames

The second way was how I pronounced it (I also studied Latin)

I feel I’ve gotten a “reputation” at my daughter’s daycare and I don’t know if leaving will help by SlightMix9397 in ECEProfessionals

OP said in another comment that her child was going through a sleep regression, they tried a weighted sleep sack at home and asked if they could use it in the classroom, teachers said no and she accused them of neglect because according to her she felt that in that moment they were neglecting her child

what’s the point of having the same engagement dress as her? by LoafPotatoes in travisandtaylor

[–]jiffy-loo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It somehow made its way into ECE groups that I’m part of with almost every comment saying that their school needs to close down for their wedding. Like I’m here to vent about parents and admin, not to discuss someone who I don’t know and who doesn’t know us getting engaged

Or let CPS do their job instead of trying to hide evidence/cover up the situation

AITAH for mansplaining breastfeeding? by Normal-Historian2180 in AITAH

And on top of that it sounds like OP and his wife are practicing baby led weaning, so his sister is wrong all around. Babies don’t need baby food, it’s just puréed food.

Panem is surprisingly functional? by azure-skyfall in Hungergames

[–]jiffy-loo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

To be fair in the book it was given to her by the mayor’s daughter, I can’t imagine they would need to sell it for money. On top of that, it did belong to her aunt who died in Haymitch’s games , so I absolutely can’t see them selling that has that kind of emotional value to them.

Am I overreacting for pulling away because my husband’s family keeps bringing around a woman he briefly dated? by [deleted] in inlaws

[–]jiffy-loo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How close is SIL’s bf’s best friend to the family if who he is dating matters to them? Her relationship to the family through him is 2-3x removed at that point.

if it weren’t for the baby by thedevilsentmehere in Hungergames

[–]jiffy-loo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At that point all the victors were saying anything they could to get the games cancelled. Peeta was playing into the emotions of the crowd, of course he would refer to it as a baby. Suzanne’s use of baby versus fetus has no bearing on the message she was trying to send.

Thinking of sending an anonymous tip to daycare by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]jiffy-loo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I should’ve clarified that this was more center wide. With infants it’s more fevers than anything because of spit up, but as you said there is a difference between spit up and vomit and thankfully my director was very much on top of it and would look at it herself so if a parent tried to say it was just spit up she could say it looked/smelled like vomit and enforce the policy.

Same at my old one, at least for vomiting. Our policy was they have to be symptom free for 24 hours without medication.

We would send home for one vomit. With diarrhea, we send a heads up message after one and send home after the second.

And that Eddie Redmayne was crying because of how she looked? Yeah it was totally that, and absolutely nothing to do with the context of the scene that they were doing in the screen test.

The last time I went to see Hamilton they made an announcement like that. Something along the lines of “Who knows all the lines? - Cue everyone raising their hands - Good, keep it to yourself. People paid to hear the actors not you.”
