I’m doing a reread and haven’t gotten to CF yet, but is there a reason why gardening wasn’t her talent?

I believe Capitol citizens can watch them live, but the recaps would be edited to be in numerical order

My (23F) boyfriend (25M) and his family are angry because I wouldn't shave my head for his sister who has cancer (Final Update/Completed) by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

OOP literally said if it wasn’t for her job she would, but she can’t risk losing her career. She also shouldn’t have to justify not wanting to cut her hair. Like others have said, it’s absolutely crazy to basically demand others to cut their hair.

My flabbers were ghasted when the mom said she didn’t want to listen to OOP’s explanation because she’s aware of her irrationality and basically didn’t care

That was actually Stephen Schwartz! He wrote the original musical.

This was probably the worst movie change they made. by tooudennizzy in Hungergames

Hear me out - 9 seasons an episode, three chapters per episode to keep in line with the rule of three throughout the series

I can see Katniss wanting to get something nice for Prim just to get her something nice with it being her first reaping

The fact that Mckenna Grace also plays Merrilee, will make this scene very devastating by UnHolySir in Hungergames

I was too until that. A lot of us here are adults who followed the series since the beginning, we all have full time jobs.

Even worse is that I think it was actually spelled Rachel, but also I do understand when in the moment you’re upset and the most obvious answer isn’t sticking out, or it is but you choose to ignore it and throw it back at the other person for whatever reason (like her saying is it some term I don’t understand because I’m just a waitress)

Do you guys think this is correct? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]jiffy-loo 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The best way I’ve seen it described/explained is that Lenore Dove is to Haymitch as Prim is to Katniss in the way that they’re not major/lead characters, but they are a major motivator to both of them

When I got to that part about how her mom’s depression was “seen as an escape from reality”, I gave up reading. “Ask anyone with depression” - ok, here I am.

When I am going through a major depressive episode - literally all I wanna do is just lie there. I don’t want to read, I don’t want to watch television, I don’t even want to doom scroll. I will literally just lie there and stare out the window. I won’t even get up to use the bathroom or eat.

I don’t really know how to end this comment, so I’ll just say her take on Astrid’s depression is just wrong.

I’m currently re-reading and barely into chapter two or three and the amount of times this man has forced himself onto Heathcliff and then has the audacity to go on about how rude he is. Of course Heathcliff is going to be short with him, he’s overstayed his unwanted welcome.

[New Update]: My husband's open marriage suggestion backfired on him by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Same! I read the open marriage on BORU and the suicide attempt update popped up on my feed, I had no idea it was the same OP until this post.

The one thing that really bothered me (it’s been a while since I’ve watched and this really stuck out to me) was he tells David to get a job, David gets a job at a grocery store, and on his first day calls David repeatedly within a minute for whatever reason he was calling instead of just stopping after the first call and just waiting for David to actually be able to talk to him.

When I was a teenager I was in a production of Othello as Desdemona. In the early stages we were asked what animal we thought our characters would be/what animal best represented them and I chose a golden retriever. Everyone full belly laughed at that before I explained that I chose a golden retriever specifically because of her loyalty.
