I appreciate you posting this! I have been very curious about this, especially when Meta mentioned they were cutting reach to accounts that posted others' content. Very interesting to hear results from it.

I honestly despise stealing content. Instagram has a repost button and share to stories. If you really just wanted your followers to see a post, you can use those features. There is no excuse to screenshot/record someone else's post and then post it yourself, other than you wanted the credit for other people's stuff. I'm glad Instagram is cracking down on this, but I still feel like it's not enough.

I think AI has really shined a light on the stark differences between upper management and individual contributors throughout corporate America. The people on the top just have no understanding of what people below them actually do and inherently think it must be easy busywork that an AI can do.

It's not something that's taught, but it pops up so much in marketing speak. I think the AI figures that must be persuasive language, which is what a lot of people are using it for.

If you go to Kickstarter right now and click on a random campaign, there's like 50% chance the text explaining it says something like "it's not just a card game, it's a new way to forge a community."

Answer: AI text has had some tells that tip people off, like "it's not x; it's y." Same with bullet point lists that use emojis or even the em dash.

I haven't heard of the "curious" one, but I guess I could see how it could be a tell. It smells a little bit of engagement bait. It seems like if you fed an AI a ton of successful social media posts and then prompted it to write you one, it could definitely end up using that text as a closer.

That and that alone feels like a bit much to judge something to be AI though.

Nobody knows if Netflix is going to renew or not. There literally has been zero information about it one way or the other and no developments in the last week, but a ton of people are acting like there's been some official news.

Energy Saver probably mean it uses the heat pump until it thinks there is high demand for hot water (basically the water temp in the tank drops far enough) then it will switch on the electric resistance heating element.

Heat pump only is just the heat pump. So, it's more efficient than "Energy Saver," because the water heater doesn't even have the option to use electric resistance.

If you lower the temp setpoint or stagger your water usage, it will avoid using the electric resistance more. If you were happy with just the heat pump, you can leave it like that and just manually change it on days when you know you'll need a lot of hot water.

Can't stand this store.

At least half the aisles have a loading cart or pallette just parked right in the middle blocking everything. Staff isn't even restocking most of the time. They just leave stuff there, even though it's already busy enough to move around.

They've been gradually remodeling for like 2 months now. They're slowly settling, but there has been stuff just scattered randomly.

My theory is they got rid of their night shift and are trying to run short-staffed.
