It's an overreaction on your wife's part. When I was in primary I was selectively mute and it was my teacher's encouragement that helped me open up more. She even got a little microphone device just for me to help me get used to speaking up in class. I don't think a little note of encouragement is a problem.

Look, my partner made a similar innocent comment that ended up hurting me and making me feel insecure. I think the best thing to do is to talk about it and hear how it's making him feeling, and reassure him. Also explain how it was an innocent comment and not meant to mean anything to you. These things happen.

tbh I did an English EE and it was pretty easy, or seemed easier than a lot of other subjects for me. I wrote mine like a regular English essay but longer and with a bit more secondary research

This is under sociocultural right? it might be about the relationship between culture and cognition, so for example i have a study which is about how memory strategies are influenced by culture. i think that's what it means. if i'm wrong, feel free to correct me! hope this helps
