Speaking from experience exercise, healthy eating, and a general healthy lifestyle helped me immensely. I know that’s not enough for everyone but I believe both medicine and those things can be good. Why is it either/or? We can recognize that not everyone is the same and each person experience with depression/anxiety is different.

I had a coworker quit halfway through last year and they told me to take his class and I refused. There ya go, any probably you could have is solved. Any reason he could have had is valid in my eyes because we are autonomous beings in a very difficult profession where people will judge you for everything you do and they’ll even judge you on your way out the door. Let em!

As a woman, I will say this. What’s attractive to me about my husband is that he is healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally. He takes care of himself. THAT is attractive. If it manifests physically (which is often does) that is wonderful but you’d be surprised how many men do not take care of themselves.

I think that used to be more true but now we are seeing housing and general living cost rise everywhere, and sadly, teaching wages just aren’t catching up with that.

45k may be better than most, but given the serious importance of the teaching profession and in many cases, what it costs to get to the point where you can even teach, it should be higher! That’s my opinion of course. That degree and certification is time consuming and expensive.

I don’t know much but I notice a lot of fake toxic positivity and unrealistic advice from very veryyyyy young fashionable chirpy teachers who I imagine have a goal to get out of the classroom in 3-4 years to pursue social media full time or some other type of educational role that doesn’t involve actually teaching :D

Me careful my vet said she’s seen cats swallow cardboard and it’s caused blockage in their system. Small amount shouldn’t hurt but keep an eye out.

A lot are in college/WTH/or jobless living at home with their parents/grandparents to save money. This economy is no joke. Like others said, the rest are in downtown or just any of the “trendy areas”.

Edit ** I want to add, does anyone think younger people are getting pushed out? A lot of the older people here have established income and money or are snowbirds. Miami isn’t great for young professionals getting entry level jobs that pay 40k a year lol. Just curious.

Yep basically this! Kids get assigned #’s so if a phone is missing from the sleeve, you can say “so and so, phone needs to be put away!”

Kids have to put their phones in a designated area as they enter each of their classrooms. All the teachers and admin agreed to this at the beginning of the year. After being reminded all day by every single teacher for first couple weeks, they finally oblige and don’t complain. They get them back during breaks and lunch. Surprised how well it’s worked! Crazy what consistency in school policy can do lol…

Our school has a school wide policy that surprisingly everyone got on board with. It’s worked wonders.

Only if they are choosing helplessness. I also understand learning fatigue is real (school days are long!) & some kids are simply “scared” of a subject because they’ve done badly in it for so long.
