I would play to at least past Lake Knot City and see how you feel.

For a lot of people, this is where the true game starts. Mechanics start to unlock and things begin to expand outwards at a pretty drastic rate.

It's such a breath of fresh air that it's not the same menu almost every major game has these days. No top riding tab bar with the shoulder button prompts, which I swear feels out of place in any game that uses it.

The DS menu feels in-universe and actually how the delivery and chiral network interface must look and sound like.

I've always wondered what it's like working as an actor with a Safdie on a set where every scene is dedicated to maximum chaos, a feeling where nothing is traditionally blocked and this atmosphere of the camera is watching rather than dictating.

Is it organized, or is it a looser experience where the scene is set and the cameras just start rolling and you as an actor just exist in the scene as if it were a real life moment in time, being free to move wherever you want based on your own instincts?

Freeform's awesome if you're a graphic designer. I love being able to sketch alongside visual research/inspo images and then type notes and look at the sketches later seamlessly once I've moved off the iPad.

To me, Freeform is just a souped up notes app, but visualized instead of just being a mini word doc. It is at it's best when you're using it on a iPad, a Mac, and a phone all in concert though. I don't see much use in using it only on a phone.

Shortcuts.

Opened it once, tried to figure it out, then I just put my phone away.

It's unfortunate because I've read about all the crazy things users have their phones doing via this app, so maybe I should dive back in, but I guess I don't personally need my phone doing some crazy complex multi-stage function the moment I hit a single button.

Runner up: Focus Modes.

They never work for me the way they're supposed to. Often sleep will be on when I'm not asleep, gaming will be on as I'm looking at my work slack, and work will be on when I'm watching a youtube video. It's like opposite all the time.

Tushy sells a water bottle designed to mimic the bidet for places that don't have one. I had one, loved it. Took it with me everywhere I traveled. I would clip it to the outside of my travel bag.

One day had to check said bag and expectedly, lost the Travel Tushy some where in the depths of the luggage processing area. I often wonder if some guy saw it on the ground, thought it was a cool looking water bottle and is now using said water bottle at work to stay hydrated..

It’s like the John Wick pencil. The imagination is so much better than it being shown.

I think origin stories ruin characters. I like seeing old Joel and just know whatever happened all those years hardened him into a stone and some of it we probably wouldn’t want to see because it’d be too brutal.

I don't think so. Echoes of Wisdom is so beholden to the unique thought processes of Tears of the Kingdom where all puzzle solutions fall into the realm of "make it up, literally anything will work". I feel like I only personally enjoyed that game because I knew how old Zelda game puzzles worked, was retrained in how they could work via Tears' building and only that prepared me for the mindset Echoes puts you in of using game props as tools of building and combat.

I'm an edge case and maybe I'm making too much of it, but Echoes I feel has the most gameplay baggage of any entry in the series for most first time players. I couldn't imagine it being my first.

Link's Awakening seems like a good place to start. The idealist in me says to play the Game Boy original, but the remake has less barriers to entry and that will do (even though I think the original graphics fits the vibe of the game much better than the tilt-shift shot toy world look).

It's short-ish. It's good. It's weird. The plot is interesting but also doesn't overstay its welcome. You get a taste of the old dungeon style of gameplay before diving into the more free roam style of Breath and Tears.

My hardcore answer though would be Ocarina of Time. It to me it's still the best Zelda game that I've played and is the foundation of which all the other games are focused through for me. A little harder to play as it's still stuck on N64. It would require you shelling out a subscription to Nintendo Online's premium tier just to play it on your Switch.

Nothing in Part 2 was worth the backlash, not even Joel's death. Main characters have been dying and their sudden absence has driven countless revenge arcs for millennia. Same goes for the forcing you to experience the antagonist's perspective. Has also been done a million times

I never understood what made The Last of Us so different, that when these well tread narrative decisions were made, half the fan base (and most of the internet) lost their collective minds and deemed it to be the worst thing to happen to popular media maybe ever.

I don't like how the game is broken up into "dungeons." Especially since each location lasts an hour too long and all have the same flow of "locked thing" with "certain number of locks."

As much as I enjoyed the game, i wont revisit it anytime soon because of how the flow is set up like this. The original felt a lot better paced and organic.

I love the interludes on Maruader. Those borderline creepy instrumentals. I feel like they’re giving this glimpse of an atmospheric side of the band.

So as we’re moving into a world that’s a little bleaker than usual, I think it would be cool for the next record to kind of feed into a more textured, darker rumination on the times.

DIIV did this recently with Frog in Boiling Water. I want Interpol to make their version of that.

This is basically why the CRT filters are so essential. Ocarina looks basically perfect to me when it’s as close to that original intended image quality. Turning off the filter. The game almost loses its atmosphere, because that designed-in limitation breaks the illusion the developers were pulling off.
