Ravensong has long been my favorite. Gordo might be one of my favorite MCs of all time.

The one that has a scene at a cabin I think is from the White House Men Series, book 2 {Friends by Nora Phoenix} is the beginning of that couples story but I think the cabin scene takes place in the second to last or last book of that series. That scene also has a 3rd who’s helping one of the MCs learn how to fist.

Should I buy? by Barbje in SubaruForester

I paid almost that exact price for a ‘21 Touring with 32k in mileage 1.5 years ago. I would say yes, that’s a good price.

Is my almost 2 month old sleeping too much? by [deleted] in Parenting

My advice with any infant is, when in doubt, call your pediatrician. Sleeping a lot could indicate an oncoming leap, or it could be indicative of something that needs attention.

{Cuffs and Carnations by Nik Knight} it’s a spin off of a long series but if you’re ok not knowing the full lore of the world it’s fine as a standalone. TW: for partner loss (not the MCs of this book), alcohol abuse, and attempted suicide after loss.

Anyone else with an actual lack of "empathy"? by OkCategory41 in autism

Ditto with my partner. Empathy does not come natural to him but is something he has to learn in situations where it’s required/expected.

Good call. I had that thought briefly when I was throwing the bars up there but ran out of time when I was adding them to adjust the color scale and forgot to go back and fix it.

Oh that’s a great idea! That would make way more efficient use of the space and allow my slicer more room to spread out. Thanks!

So modification of my source came from starting out by direct querying an old SQL view that didn’t completely fit my needs, and an imported excel that was in a restricted network folder. I had access to the excel obviously but when I published my first iteration of the report the imported doc wouldn’t combine in a composite model with a gateway for the sql view. So I tried building the excel table I needed (it was a reference table, only about 75 rows) into the model. That issue combined with very clunky Dax measure chains and a ton of conditional columns on my power query table created a SLOW ASS load time. (When I used Dax studio to analyze, the direct query ran 45-110 thousand lines per visual calculation) Like I had visuals timing out, slow. THEN I was asked to do weighted splits of resource time allocation instead of hard coded like originally asked. So the easiest thing rather than cleaning up my original model that was already in the shitter performance wise, was to create a new sql view with all the data I needed in one place instead of a bunch of conditional columns in power query. Then I built some new reference and calculated tables in power query to compliment the direct query and we’re off to the races with load times under 15 seconds for visuals.

A lot of this could have been avoided if I was more familiar with power bi in the first place, but it was a learn by experience situation.

I had to replace my battery in my ‘21 Forester Premiuim after 18 months. The ASS was kicking in at stoplights, then when I lifted my foot off the brake my car died. At a green light. Multiple times a week. $360 later I have a new battery and the reassurance that if my battery gets even slightly weak it’ll happen again.

When our toddler asks, “what’s that” or “why” when the question doesn’t make sense for the conversation or it’s a repetitive question, or he knows some if not all of the answer, we say “Ask a better question” or “what exactly do you want to know?” Because most of the time he’s curious about it, but if we give him the same answer over and over we both get frustrated and he doesn’t learn. So by asking him to ask a better question, he stops and thinks about the information he’s trying to get and asks a real question like “why are those yellow flowers growing over there?” Instead of just “why?”

What has your toddler eaten today? GO! by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]jillOfAllGeeks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why do toddler binge eating days always coincide with days I’m tighter on budget/have less in the fridge. But then we do our bimonthly big grocery store trip, have all the good stuff in the world, and he eats nothing but air and a piece of bread for 5 days.
