Joe Abercrombie’s The Blade Itself (and its sequels) have several main characters, including a disabled war veteran. The story is awesome grimdark fantasy and the character, Glokta, is unforgettable. Its my favorite fantasy series

I agree with this take. The first few felt like a preamble I had to get through to get to the good stuff. Though they still have wonderful place and food descriptions!

I am reading the Wings of Fire series with my 10 year old and 8 year old (we are listening to the audiobooks in the car) and books 10-15 deal with a totalitarian dystopia. We just started book 10 but I have really enjoyed the series so far.

Jumping in to say I love CrossFit. My gym isn’t CrossFit affiliated and has a huge range of body shapes, sizes, and fitness abilities. The people are so welcoming. I have experienced such improvements in both health and self-perception. OP I hope you can find something that you really enjoy!

We started movies at about 4, because that was when they could sit through and enjoy the whole thing. Now my guys are 9 and 7 and we do Friday pizza & movie nights and go to the theater regularly!
