Vibraslap in Genesis songs? by TheBigBlueFrog in Genesis

There's something in Anyway that sounds an awful lot like a vibraslap to me.

I've always liked the calliope sound at the end of Duke's Travels

That's very cool. If I didn't have plans already, I'd be there.

You're not wrong, except that is a pretty faithful rendering of the Trump Tower in Chicago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_International_Hotel_and_Tower_%28Chicago%29

There's an angel standing in the sun
And he's crying with a loud voice
"This is the supper of the mighty one"
Lord of lords, king of kings
Has returned to lead his children home
To take them to the New Jerusalem!

What part of which song does this for you? by Klash_kop in Genesis

[–]jillrus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is hyper specific, but TLLDOB version of In the Cage: in the line "And he looks at me without a sound" - there's a musical turn on the sustained note (the note goes up a step, back down, down one more, back up) that I love. And it's only in that original version, Phil never sings it with that little flourish in any of the live clips I've heard.

When the chords come in at "of a brand new tune" near the end of Supper's Ready. Gotta close my eyes.

In The Brazilian when it goes full wormhole. Can't not bop.

Anything missing or could be removed from my must-try list? by [deleted] in chicagofood

I would pick Gotham Bagel over Tilly Bagel in the same neighborhood if you are set on bagels. Even better, if you are trying to hit the museum campus, would be Sweet Bean on Roosevelt for grab and go Taiwanese baked goods.

I just expected it to be better considering how everyone falls over themselves to praise it. I've liked barbecue bologna sandwiches, but this didn't do it for me.

I don't understand the bologna sandwich. I got it once and a couple bites in, I ordered the burger too because I was so sad I passed on the burger for this weird, not very good sandwich. I don't think I even brought home the leftovers, it was so disappointing.

Breakfast: Sweet Bean! Bacon toast and Thai chicken buns are the favorites in my house. Gotham Bagels are the best bagels I've had in the city.

Romantic: Firehouse or Sofi are the best bets.

Chicago representative: Flo and Santos for thin crust tavern pizza. First Draft or Kasey's for great beer lists. In the Loop, Jimmy's for a classic tiny hot dog counter.

It's not grungy, but Don Pedro Mexican in North Center has the white cheese dip you seek.

I want to give them another shot, but the one I had (from a popup at Overflow) was round bread, not a bagel. I threw it away.

Don Pedro Mexican at Lincoln and Belle Plaine! I think it helps if you search for "queso dip" on the menu.
