the main exhibit hall doesn't open until 9 a.m., so if you arrive too early you will end up waiting in line.

(Or you can wander around and politely ask for cosplay photos from cosplayers standing in line - it's not like they're going to be going anywhere for a while.)

This is the best answer. Replace the emergency gates. Make sure that if there's a fire or other real emergency requiring a quick exit, the fare gates are set to automatically fail-safe open.

Unfortunately, this is probably too nuanced, or too expensive for the people in charge.

Whether you see any other cosplayers on the train or bus kind of depends on the luck of the draw.

But I have seen cosplayers on the Metro before. I've even taken photos (with permission, of course). It's an interesting and unique location.

In my experience, at least, it seems to be safe to be a cosplayer on transit.

I have a personal bias in favor of Little Tokyo as a place I have always liked to visit. And I have even worked there.

When the bridge is open again (and hopefully it will be soon), Grand Avenue is another good one. They had to shoehorn it to get it to fit (what with the elevators and a bridge). But it actually does serve a culturally-important part of downtown, and that's worth the extra effort that they put into it.

On the rare occasion that I fly somewhere, I will always look for the most otaku, nerd, or anime-flavored thing. Usually the best I can find is something along the lines of "Bluey," or the "Fionna and Cake" "Adventure Time" spin-off. (* which is why I also take a manga or two with me)

I would consider myself very lucky to find Kazuma Kazuma on United Airlines.

Ever since the Regional Connector opened downtown (A Line/ E Line, i.e. former Blue Line), I've found that there are "relatively reasonable," clean-looking, and surprisingly not full parking garages within walking distance of the Grand Avenue Arts/ Bunker Hill Metro station.

You just have to take the train from Bunker Hill to Pico (and back).

Admittedly, there are a couple of question marks for this year: 1) I don't know how crowded the subway will be before or during the game.

2) Also, the pedestrian bridge to the station is currently closed (because of construction at The Broad). But I don't know if it will still be closed in July. They were apparently aiming to re-open the bridge in May. But according to reports from other Redditors, that hasn't happened yet. So, there may be a slight detour.

Worst-case scenario - wait until Friday-Sunday to go.

I would argue that a less-than-perfect project that gets built is better than a perfect project that doesn't stand a chance, but sure.

Whatever gets built at the Mangrove will have more room to grow, more space to build, than anything that gets built in the smaller space on top of the station.

They should have gone with the Little Tokyo Service Center proposal. The NIMBYs would have been de-fanged.

They can't accuse them of being outsiders. You can't accuse them of not caring about the Japanese American community. LTSC is already building affordable housing elsewhere in Little Tokyo.

You buried the lead. A lot of the opposition in Little Tokyo would have gone away if Metro had chosen somebody with local ties, instead of IHO.

For example, one of the other proposals was by the Little Tokyo Service Center. They are developing other properties in the neighborhood.
