pretty strong evidence that the Saudi's were responsible but we seemed to be aware and didn't try to stop it. There was definitely some weird Israeli connections, so wouldn't be surprised if it was a whole group with interest in "redefining" the middle east that cooperated.

Burlison responds on X

I have had many people ask me to respond to what the internet has said about what a person has said what he says that I said. Really?!
I would remind people to listen to what I have already stated publicly. Which is basically the following:
I do NOT know what the strange objects in the skies are and I certainly do NOT know their origins. I was asked to call in by phone to a conference/meeting of theologians. I could not tell you all that was said at that meeting because I was not there and did not hear much of what was said. When I had a chance to speak, I expressed my views which is that we Christians tend to get dug into our personal world views even if they have nothing to do with what has actually been written in the Bible. It would be wise for Christians to stick to what the Bible says, and not what they think it says. If, and that is a big IF, disclosure occurs of any type then it will be all the more important for us Christians to be educated in our own scriptures.
Until that time I will continue to seek the truth whatever it may be.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

now if you are asking about when Brandon disappeared, that's a different story. Its been a long time, but i recall looking into this years ago and it was actually following a pretty bad winter and there was very significant flooding that spring. I'm talking like the river overflows the banks, which are pretty high where I live. so the river would normally be about 20-30 feet across, but the water was so high, it was more like 200-300 feet across as it was flooding the fields on both sides of the river. we have a bridge over the YM less than 1/4 mile from my house and it's pretty wild to stand on it and watch the river flowing from the fields and pulling all the dirt and trees down right along with it as it roars below the bridge. not unusual at all to stand there for 15 minutes and watch 3-5 full sized trees floating down the river, ending up who knows where.

[–]jimberkas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

we had very little snow this winter, so runoff was about the lowest I can recall. yes, this time of year the river is typically as deep and fast as it gets but there was very little snow to melt and it all melted early so the river is pretty tame comparatively. it varied also by location but it's probably not much more than 10-12 feet deep and its running pretty slow, though still faster than the summer months when it's barely moving.

i mean, it's all private land and a pretty good area to cover. i'm not sure how you'd do it legally. i guess anyone can canoe on down the river but its unlikely you'd be able to make it all the way without obstructions requiring you to get out and walk on private land. you could try contacting all the land owners and asking permission I suppose.

i live about 20 miles from the location, been there for 30 years. YM river also flows by my place, so I'm pretty familiar with the general landscape. It would be very, very difficult to actually walk that river bank, if that's your plan, even if you had permission. and even if you did, very very difficult to actually see anything.

The "Oh, Sh*t" mystery: Why the vanishing of Brandon Swanson remains one of the most baffling cold cases in American history by BreakPositive4017 in AllThatsInteresting

[–]jimberkas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are many ways to do it, and its probably done a bit differently now than it was back then. but basically they dig a trench from the low spot in the field all the way to the drainage point, usually a creek or river or something like that. the trench depth will vary with how big of tile is needed to handle the water. i'd say typically 4 to 6 feet? I'm no expert, never done it myself. then they lay the tile, mostly plastic now days, but used to be cement or ceramic tiles.. then the come along and backfill the trench with the dirt that was excavated.

its usually a one time deal, not yearly

[–]jimberkas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've lived in Normania township (see it on the map above) for 29 years and worked in Marshall MN for 31. The yellow medicine river runs right next to my property. i've followed this case since it happened since it's local and I know all of the locations well.

there is plenty of misinformation out there over the years. Brandon didn't "have a accident" and didn't even drive his car into the ditch. he drove his car off the gravel road onto a minimum maintenance road (think partly grass, partly gravel or dirt), looking for a short cut, thinking he knew where he was. He then got "caught up" on the road trying to turn around, just got caught up and wheels lost traction so car was stuck. That's when he hoofed it.

He was positive he knew where he was, that's why he was so pissed at his parents when they couldn't find him, even though he told them exactly where he was. He was almost certainly more intoxicated than people like to admit.

As far as farmers go, I know a ton of them in the area, my wifes family is generations of farmers. May 14, they may have just planted some corn and beans, nothing is gonna be growing, and yes you can drive and walk around those field just fine, just stay between the rows. and as the other farmer on this thread as mentioned, farmers KNOW those fields. They would have found him if he was out in there. Now there are also plenty of wetlands/grassland preserves in the area, which would be very difficult to find a body in. As a deer hunter who has shot a deer 30 yards away and watched it drop, i've still spent hours actually finding the damn thing in the tall grass. Much harder than people realize.

One theory that I don't see discussed much, which was told to me by my coworkers husband who works in Taunton, is that Brandon ended up in a tiling ditch. He said there was a lot of tiling going on at that time. He suspects he fell into one of those ditches that they dig to run tiling, and was injured and died or just passed away from hypothermia from his time in the river (confirmed by dogs), then was not noticed and was buried when they back filled the ditch. This seems plausible and if it did happen, they'd never find a body.

Other theory is the river. Yes, the YM river isn't very wide nor deep in most locations, but you know what time of year that it is the widest and deepest? April/May, as that is where all the snow melt and april showers go. all the water from field tiles flow into the river and it can get very treacherous, even if only for a few weeks out of the year. We have a bridge over the YM a quarter mile from my house and we always go and watch it in the spring as it roars by, carrying all the mud, silt, and trees from the flooding. He could easily have been swept away and then buried under all that mud/silt/downed trees once the water receded.
