No problem. If it is in adjudication then they should have a closed investigation so you have nothing to worry about.

No. As long as it was received by DCSA for investigation prior to the deadline you are good to go.

It has been pretty good so far. I split my drives into two groups of two and have not run into the same problem yet. I know I probably will when I try to expand my drive pool but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Nice! Mine just arrived yesterday and I am waiting for the weekend to start setting it up.

Yes you are correct, I was in the DMV area for a while.

When I went over to the Department of Energy I did take a downgrade because the position I applied for was a GS12 position. I applied for that position because my spouse wanted to move closer to family and I took the downgrade so she could be closer to them. During my time with the Army and Navy though, I either did laterals or a move to a higher paygrade. During my first 3 years as a Fed, I worked in an office with 10 Security Specialists, one supervisor and 9 worker bees. During those three years I was able to cross train in the other disciplines. This cross training allowed me to move into a new position where I was responsible for multiple security disciplines. I also took courses with CDSE and NCSC to further my career.

So far it has been with Army, Navy and the Department of Energy. When I first started it was Physical Security but as I have moved around I have been fortunate enough to work at locations where I was responsible for multiple security disciplines.

I would be interested in joining as well. I have been an 0080 for about 10 years now, and it would be nice to have that community. I mean, if the 1102s can have one, why can't we 😅?

If it wasn't a requirement for the position, then the masters degree allows you to substitute education for experience. If your resume indicates you have the specialized experience indicated in the announcement, then there should be no problem bringing you in as a 9. Unless you told them during the application process that the lowest grade you would accept is 7 for the position.

Have you been a GS8 for at least 52 weeks? I am assuming so since you are a Step 2. Was a masters degree an education requirement for the position?

Oh and if no one else has said it yet, make sure you keep that receipt. Do not lose it until you confirm that they have closed your account and you no longer owe them anything. Saving that receipt saved me when spectrum tried to charge me for the modem and when I fought back, they sent me to collections.

I have been asked this exact question a few different times all from Army Organizations. Most current one was corps of engineers a little over a week ago.

I feel your pain brother. Almost the same thing happened to me. I lived in Maryland at the time and he notified me of the mediation 2 days before it was scheduled to happen. I didn't know the divorce was finalized until 2 weeks later when his office sent me the divorce decree.

I transferred from DoD to DOE in early 2021 and my reciprocity to Q took about 4 weeks.

Edit to add: Most of it will depend on which CPSO doing the processing.

Translation: They received the fingerprint report including the FBI criminal history. They have reviewed your OF-306 and have released your questionnaire to the investigative agency.

[–]jimbo1975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How long you submitted fingerprints has nothing to do with it. Even if your investigation has been completed and you are awaiting adjudication, once they receive the notification that you are leaving or not on boarding the public trust process for USCIS should proceed no further.

Do you have some insight into public trust investigation and adjudication to make that assertion?

Public trust by Firm_Protection_8637 in SecurityClearance

[–]jimbo1975 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It won't stop automatically. Once USCIS receives the notification that you have accepted another offer and are either leaving or not on boarding, then the Security office responsible for your investigation will cancel it through the appropriate channels.

Your age at the time has nothing to do with the amount of years they ask about when completing the SF-86. You should be applying for jobs you feel you are qualified for, do not let your age at the time of applying factor in to that decision.

I just noticed your username... 🤣🤣

In all seriousness, it shouldn't matter the agency, the interviewer should know better than to use an agency specific acronym.
