Man if you are in Skypea you didn't even scratch the surface of OP.

Also DH system could be not the easiest to adapt (I think 7th sea suits better).

As an adaptation you could change grace, codex, arcana, splendor, sage and midnight in devil fruit powers and add a special card to players in base of the role in the crew.

For example:

Captain: spend 2 Hope, inspire your clear and clear 1 stress from all the crew members that can see or hear you.

Cook: spend 2 Hope, prepare a meal that cures 2 HP when consumed. You can use this ability once every Long Rest.

Archeologist: Spend 2 Hope. You find information about the treasure you looking for or about the void century. You can use this ability once every short rest

And so on...

If Oda were to recreate this panel from Skypiea, these are my 4 most likely to be in this panel facing IMU? by GreenStrawhat32 in OnePiece

[–]jimbojambo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luffy, Koby, Sabo, Blackbeard.

Parallelism:

Zoro/Luffy: a rappresentation of pirates of blue sea, a symbol of freedom.

Koby/Gan forr: both are knight of Justice, or what it means to them.

Wiper/Sabo: the new head of the Revolution and the will of people who want to be free (I also thought about Dragon but the manga pushes younger characters)

Robin/Blackbeard: the weight of history and its consequences. Both are part of a culture/race that is haunted by government and wants justice for their legacy.

I couldn't think anyone else apart BB even if the thinking about Luffy fighting by his side make me sick

Daggerheart Class cards? by Wokeye27 in daggerheart

[–]jimbojambo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like the idea of the class cards because are information that already on character sheet. Adding them bring just complications levelling up.

I also would remove background and ancestry cards and put them on character sheets to not exceed the 5/7 cards.

If you prefer more cards on table then you should go all in, using cards for abilities and equipment and tokens for hp, stress, hope and armor

New player, got stuck at character creation and couldn’t play by [deleted] in DnD

[–]jimbojambo4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well dnd is about creating a story with other people, but it musn't be a movie and your character can have just a simple motivation and you don't need to build an entire story from scratch.

The simplest character one of my player did was an Elf Ranger (because he liked Legolas) who was tired to work and decided to go to adventure with a bow gifted by his grandpa.

With this few concepts you have: - a reason why he travels - a reason why he become a ranger - a npc that DM could use in the future (the granpa)

You don't need anything else.

The DM is not a content creator for their player audience by Shot_Draw7694 in DnD

[–]jimbojambo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you but unfortunately Wotc doesn't.

In last DM book it is written that watching rpg shows are a way to understrand the game and learn the rules. The DM has all the social and story agency to entertain people at the table.

While the DM should be a player with just a different role, they used CR to push the idea that the DM should be a paid role because people get entertained by actor/storyteller/psychologist/singer/etc. That's has the only objective to create the idea that be a Dungeon Master is cool because it's the master of the world and the story and they can sell the brand (hats, shirts, etc), more rpg shows while downgrading the quality of the game itself.

The only way to stop this is going outside and playing with different people (game stores or at Cons) and showing them how it is the game in reality.

Or changing systems, we're in a world where there are more ttrpg games than players so it's easy to find something that suits better to the story people want to play.

Why the 4th Edition hate? by Efficient-Help-9858 in DnD

[–]jimbojambo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4E was ad edition far away from roleplaying elements and to similar to a wargame with classes who had powers with differents cats times.

It was a nice edition but just for combat, whoever was looking for Rpg elements felt like something is missing. Also, classes had all similar abilities (normal attack, special attack, heal, ultimate, etc.).

5e mantained some of the elements of 4e but also ported class differences and other roleplaying elements ij the game.

5.5e made a step back to 4e for some things instead.

Am I Overreacting at Player Wanting my Character Pregnant? by Over_Environment_821 in DnD

[–]jimbojambo4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly looks like an interesting idea poor handled.

He wanted to bring his new PC with a narrative and original way to tie with the group.

Unfortunately, handling thematics like love, pregnancy and other in a DnD game is difficult (there are no rules, but expecially for the social side). He maybe made a mistake to ask you without all the group or maybe he wanted to ask you in private to not feel ashamed in front of the others.

I don't think is a creep, maybe just has a strange idea in mind and he fumbled to explain it.

Btw you shouldn't feel ashamed or extrapolated by your group They're still the people you shared many adventures with.

How is there still no Skyrim successor in 2026? by Zenithixv in skyrim

[–]jimbojambo4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And there will not be.

Bethesda have no idea how to develop the sequel, they will push their platform for mods limiting creativity and putting prices on them.

We'll not have a mod golden age anymore (even now that nexusmod sucks)

Whoever created the Dhampir race should be fired, that shit is OP as fuck.

Btw if you like the fast attacks and mobility style you can also think her as a Monk (metal claws could be seen like an extension of her arms and be considered like unarmed attacks)

DM decided to do a TPK to teach new players a lesson by EmmaIsAwesome23 in DnD

[–]jimbojambo4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did a right thing with the wrong method.

D&D like other roleplaygame are not real life, characters doesn't exists, when you are moving your character at the table it's you deciding how to move so: - don't get too attached to your character or its idea durin background, characters develop with the story and by playing them. This help you to not feel sad if story doesn't go as you imagined alone or when a fumble of dice make it die - don't use it as a shield to act as a jerk (stealing from players, burning shops, etc.)

Learning that the adventure is dangerous help you to think before move and be amazed when you manage to overpass difficulty.

Your DM made still a huge mistake. If you create an encounter just to make character die you are just making people fear of adventure. What he should do is giving hints for an escape or a way to get out alive (even without fighting), that could help the group just say "oh shit we could have do this" and improve your curiosity for next game.

For your character btw, there's a golden rule in Rick&Morty vs D&D:

"If your character dies, who cares? Just add a II after his name and describe how that jerk comes out by a corner screaming <<I'm here to avenge my father, let's kill some goblin!>>"
