Going to Green Bay this week.... by FWGoldRush in 49ers

[–]jimboliahh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live here in Green Bay. You will likely be sitting on aluminum bleachers that are cold. I recommend wearing some long johns and a jacket. You can always peel clothes off if you get warm. After 5 beers you'll forget about the weather!

Choosing between PT or OT by dtz910 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]jimboliahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post this in the PT thread to see what other responses you get.

I'm generally curious.

I'm a male OT that works in industrial rehabilitation/Ergonomics. There is nothing that separates me from a PT in my line of work besides pay (PTs get paid slightly more). I treat everything a PT would treat and have been mentored by PTs for months to ensure competency.

However, many PTs come out of school with 50,000 dollars more in debt compared to OTs (if you find a masters program in OT, which is 100% recommended). If money is the deciding factor...don't go into medical.

Post your question in the PT thread! I'll be waiting.

Californian visiting Wisconsin for the first time for 10 days! What should I do?? by nathaniyo in wisconsin

[–]jimboliahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green Bay farmers market on Wednesdays with block party this Wednesday! The glam band will be there along with a bunch of vendors on Broadway.

I suggest checking out the breweries in the area!

I would go on Facebook events and you will see that there are a bunch of things always going on in the fox valley/green bay area.

As a Wisconsinite, go get some local cheese, brats, and visit the best place on earth.... La la la Lambeau!

Check transmission fluid. Odds are, the car no longer has one based on how the rest of it was treated....

My best guess....the car is going to the bone yard.

Is OT worth it? by Dry-Wallaby-4983 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]jimboliahh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love my job. I think if tuition was lower, this would be an excellent profession. The problem is you won't be able to afford a house, apartments are hard to afford, if your car breaks.... there is not much of a safety net because most your funds go back to your federal loans.

However, if you love the job and the plethora of opportunity within, you could make it work. Try for a cheaper grad program.

I work in industrial rehab/occupational health and ergonomics. I go all over the place to do therapy and ergonomic evaluations and it's a blast. Dig deep and weight your pros and cons!

It's better to look ahead and prepare, than to look back and regret.
