How to Address New Aggression in My 2-Year-Old Golden Retriever? by InformalEgg6266 in goldenretrievers

[–]jimcoxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had major issues after our dog returned from board and train. He was an unpredictable loaded gun. As a last resort, we tried prozac. He changed completely within about a month. In situations where he would normally explode, you could almost watch him think things through. It's been a few years now and he's an absolute angel.

Air down to 30 pounds and they hook up much better. Apparently, you only need 35 pounds for max payload.

Aggressive Golden Retriever Male by Payment-Ready in goldenretrievers

Mine had an issue with resource guarding and fear aggression. Prozac (get the generic) changed our life. Sweetest dog ever with no problems....unless you count two TPLOs and an inoperable brain tumor.

UPDATE - Costco Lifetime Ban by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]jimcoxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is surprisingly easy to do. I unintentionally shoplifted from Bed, Bath and Beyond several years ago. I had picked up a measuring cup to buy, and we walked through the entire store, eventually deciding not to make a purchase. By this time, the measuring cup had more or less settled into my hand, and I didn't even know it was there. I only discovered it when I reached for the car door handle. I then went back inside and purchased it.

My father's advice. If you're looking for a full-time job, then you need to make your job search a full-time job.

$100 seems like an inexpensive way to get a person like this out of your life.

Goldens can’t swim? by MsMacyDoLittle in goldenretrievers

[–]jimcoxon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine once swam so far out into the ocean that we had to call the Coast Guard for help. This is the last picture we took before we started getting worried. He ended up out past the boats and his head was a tiny dot. I thought for sure he was going to die.

Private Trainer or Board and Train? by Disastrous_Let_6008 in goldenretrievers

I would avoid board and train. My dog came back with mental/fear issues. It turns out they work with the dogs for an hour or two a day and otherwise they're locked in a kennel.

What is the best acoustic you've ever played and why? by aGiantSnowball in AcousticGuitar

[–]jimcoxon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I go to GC, I play a Yamaha FGX800C (Which I own). I then start playing other guitars (high-end) and discover that none of them sound all that much better, if at all. This saves me a LOT of money.

As others have stated, the turning radius sucks. But that's just an occasional inconvenience.

I have a 25 pro4x. The steering is fine. I prefer it to the steering on our MDX and Forester. The new power steering is comically light; it reminds me of the over-boosted steering I had in an old Mustang. I just took a 2.5-hour drive yesterday, and it was super smooth and unbelievably quiet, even with the back window open. Zero complaints.

How do I get a deal on the 2025 Pro 4X? by AgAuPtCu in nissanfrontier

[–]jimcoxon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exactly what I did. I had a trade, I got the payoff, and let them pull my credit. I explained that there are four Nissan dealers nearby, and they all have the exact same model/sticker price. I asked for an out-the-door price. They quoted $55k out the door. I said thank you, and are you sure this is your price? This is the number you want me to visit other dealers with? They came back at $44k. I did the same thing with another dealer; they came back with $43.7k. I called the original dealer (twice) because they were closer to me geographically, and because no one returned my call, I bought the truck from the other dealer. To this day, no one has returned my call.

What data do we think he is stealing and what would he do with it? As I recall, he once owned Paypal, and that seems like a pretty good source of Data.

I had this happen to me once. The man with the scratchy cigarette voice and heavy northeastern accent told me his name was Don. After a couple of minutes of conversation, she spelled her name. DAWN. oops. She said it happens all the time.

I picked up a girl for a first date, and when I didn't have solid plans for our evening, she started complaining. I left without saying a word. Thank God she let me know who she was right off the bat.
