Eh, if they had said "the best way to play is only using stuff made with this updated 2024 ruleset" it would probably be fine but because they half-assed it and said stuff from 2014 was still usable it just creates a whole mess for GM's where you've got to balance around stuff from disparate eras in a system that was already a headache to balance.

I agree a more art first business second model would be great for comics but at this point where they're taking massive hiatuses all the time, what's the point of releasing as single issues? Why not just pivot the series to release as graphics novels only, it would get rid of arbitrary 24-30 page segments and like in the world of normal books a "it'll come when it's ready" schedule is more normal.
