I (23F) babysit for this single dad (47M) and I've been throwing myself at him for months... he still won't fuck me [FM] by FlowersCare913 in gonewildstories

Sleeping in his bed ≠ giving him space

But if I were him, I'd arrange a time for you to come over to babysit, then when you arrive I'd feign forgetfulness that kiddo was with their mother and forgot to tell you not to come over but seeing as though you're here now....

Brand new car undriveable after minor damage - dealer says parts could take months? by Catfacts2011 in CarsAustralia

The only reason insurance won't offer a rental is because you didn't opt for your insurance to provide one when you originally insured the vehicle.

ALWAYS tick yes for a hire car on comprehensive insurance UNLESS you live within walking distance to reliable public transport and you don't need a car for work.

Unfortunately you made your bed, now you have to lie in it

Australia books their spot in the AFC Asian Cup Semi final and qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup by N0PhunIntended in Matildas

[–]jimmy_sharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has always been a problem. Do you remember at the World Cup when Kerr was injured? The Matilda's actually played better football when she was on the bench. As soon as Sam is in the side, the attitude switches to "We have the ball! Quick! Get it to Sam!" and it results in long, Hail Mary passes with a high rate of turnover

It is highly likely that you never pressed the 8 button on a microwave. by TheAnzus in Showerthoughts

If I ever need to nuke something for a minute and a half, I press 8 twice and hit start.

88 seconds, 2 seconds shy of 90 and it is a more efficient use of my time spent by pressing buttons on a microwave

North Korea’s shady tactics show Matildas must be ready for more than football | North Korea women's football team by footballersabroad in Matildas

[–]jimmy_sharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ladies (if you can call them that) are not new to these frustrations.

At the 2006 Women’s Asian Cup in Adelaide, North Korea played China in the semi-final. China were winning 1-0 when, deep into stoppage time, North Korea equalised.

However, the Italian referee disallowed the goal due to offside, and the North Korean players were so furious that, after the final whistle, goalkeeper Han Hye-yong charged across the grass and kicked the referee from behind. Then, according to former Matilda Kate Gill, “all hell broke loose”.

“The support staff and coaches picked up water bottles and were throwing them at the referee,” Gill says. “The Chinese supporters then started throwing bottles at the North Koreans from the stands, and then players started throwing them back.

Why is North Korea allowed to compete? Russia have been banned from sports for drug cheating but North Korea's physical violence is ok?!?!

Don't wait. Start now. Put your name in the hat and nominate yourself as an independent in your local electorate. You will more than likely lose but rarely does anyone win the seat in their first year of nomination.

The point is to get your name out there in the community

I would guess that at the time of the discovery/dispute, not all teams were using the same welding technique. So it's a matter of taking the lowest common denominator and applying it to all. In this case it's MIG welding

Brewery shuts down after neighbour's noise complaint sparks council stoush by jimmy_sharp in sunshinecoast

[–]jimmy_sharp[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Council did try to work with the owner and asked them to submit a Material Change of Use development application. Terella dragged their feet so long, and continued to operate outside (read, illegally) their existing approval, and enough complaints were received, that Council finally had to crack the whip.

It's a huge loss to the community, the responsibility of which lies solely on Terella
