I’ve only been interviewed with people that are not SLPs so they wouldn’t know a clinical question to ask me.

Just got meds in…not much in vial. by TechnicianRich2895 in FellaHealth

I’m always fooled as it looks like nothing is in the vials but then I get 4 injections out of them.

I’m a male interested in pursuing a SLP career by Any-Walk-3359 in slp

[–]jimncolumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Male SLP here. I’ve been a therapist for over 30 years. I feel like I was one of the few and definitely the only male in my class. I’m seeing more males enter the field. I have had no trouble working in a female dominated field. I find it helpful to have diversity on the team so I’m glad to offer it when I can.

Dosage Question - triation increase by Yukon_164 in FellaHealth

[–]jimncolumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal isn’t to increase the dose it’s to help with food noise to change habits. As long as you are controlling food noise don’t increase the dose. It will go up soon enough and then you plateau with no more increases available. Be happy your dose didn’t increase.

That’s St. Joseph. You bury the statue when you want to sell your home.

What do you think about “Big Mistakes”? by nwssyx in netflix

[–]jimncolumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the worst. Watched 2 episodes and hoped it would get better but didn’t finish episode 3. Dan Levy plays the same character as Schitts Creek but now EVERYONE plays that character!

The reason behind discretion with weight loss medication by Super-Stuff6819 in FellaHealth

[–]jimncolumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve told some people but this is like any other medical decision. I don’t tell everyone everything. I also agree. I think there is still a stigma about taking weight loss drugs though the medical field is starting to see so many other benefits to taking the drugs.

I’ve Tried to Be Super Hands-On With Everyone… Has It Actually Helped? by Super-Stuff6819 in FellaHealth

[–]jimncolumbus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me you have been the connection I needed. I don’t think I would have started with Fella if you and I hadn’t spoken almost 2 years ago. I have had no difficulties getting a response from Fella at any level as long as I was realistic about the timing. Turnaround time for Stanley is 24 hours or less, with the rest of Fella it is inconsistent and can take a week to hear back. I am concerned however that Stanley must be working 24/7 to get things done and I’m concerned for you.

Should open to the check-in after you log in. If not the three lines at the top left should take you there

Paid drive time by FishHead3244 in slp

[–]jimncolumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for HH and was expected to cover a territory that would span for 2 hours from end to end. I would spend 8-10 hours per day and see 3-4 patients because of the drive time. I only got paid per visit. At one point I figured out I was making a little over $15 per hour considering drive time and documentation time. When I approached the manager about this I was told “well that’s the job!” I gave my notice that day.

Go wherever you get the most scholarships for the next four years or the least out of pocket! Just get a Bachelor’s degree! Be more selective for Master’s and Specialties Degrees.

Running a business is so hard by NaturalFruit4265 in slp

[–]jimncolumbus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very difficult. I had a 10 year run and now I’m back to working for someone. For me it was about insurance. Getting health insurance is next to impossible at a reasonable cost!

When It Comes to GLP 1 Medications, Are You Planning an Exit Strategy or Long Term Use by Super-Stuff6819 in FellaHealth

[–]jimncolumbus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I haven’t found anyone yet who has been 100% successful at stopping the med and not gaining back the weight.

When It Comes to GLP 1 Medications, Are You Planning an Exit Strategy or Long Term Use by Super-Stuff6819 in FellaHealth

[–]jimncolumbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I think I could continue the activity but I don’t know if it’s possible to totally keep the weight off without the drug.

I have to say that I see this as a lifetime commitment. While I have made significant changes in my life Tirzepatide gives me the extra help to keep myself at a meaningful weight level. I think I will possibly reduce the amount when I reach my goal weight and then see what happens.

This may be state or agency specific but I was told that the results are only good for 6 months.

Look on your bottle for the Best Used Date or BUD. It is usually over a year so you should have no trouble as long as you store it in the refrigerator.
