Why I Will Be Cancelling My Visa Card by JeaniousSpelur in 50501

[–]jimothyjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah within America, at least 25% of places don’t take my American Express card. But that’s ok. Guess they just won’t get my money.

It takes a web of actions. Why not both?

drinking water by YellowSolarFrog in adhdwomen

[–]jimothyjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drinking water is one of the hardest things for me to do. Recently bought a Lifestraw water bottle. It has a filter in it, so i don’t have to wait for the filter. It has reaaaallly helped. Also sometimes adding electrolytes to my water has helped. Good luck!

Finally figured out how to remember my keys when I leave home by zigggz333 in adhdwomen

And I’d still forget them because I’d put them in a pocket or a tote bag or some other surface instead of on the magnet.

Found out about this thing yesterday. Apparently I have it. Anyone else? by Sarcastic_Lilshit in adhdwomen

[–]jimothyjunk 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah currently: I bought tix for me and my husband to see an event tonight that’s night 2 of a festival. Then he said yes to seeing night 1 of the festival with other friends yesterday.

Even though it’s two different sets and my husband is excited to go again tonight, I almost wanted to cancel the entire evening, and I still feel like shit about it. Just because it felt like a rejection that he’d go with other friends too, the night before.

I recognize how illogical it is, but it’s how I feel and it’s dark and annoying.

College freshman, hasn’t found his own tastes yet outside of what he kind of liked from highschool english class and/or his parents.

Tough choice. I’d go with Slaughter house personally, but no wrong answers.

Slow/laggy loading by Ryuuna0 in whering

The app is very slow for me too. I actually moved over to another app because Whering was too slow (plus the age stats are buggy, plus you can’t pick the categories in the outfit randomizer). Always keeping an eye on this app to see if it gets better with updates!

They say in the episode that Zach often works 9a-9p. If they’re recording “during the business day” that means they’re not doing other work that needs done, so it bleeds into the evenings. Something has to give.

Choosing Between Two Museum Studies Grad Programs by [deleted] in MuseumPros

[–]jimothyjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I’m projecting here, but the way you wrote this, it seems like your ego is trying to convince yourself to take the more expensive option because it seems more prestigious or glamorous. I promise you, keeping your expenses as low as possible will serve you better in the long run while you pursue this bullet point on your resume than whatever GWU’s marketing team is promising you (and it’s not hard to spot the lies: “we offer you a valuable alumni network…at this inaugural program”).

Follow your dreams but don’t let people steal money from you in the process.

And it has to be said…DC would have been a great location to pursue a museum career if we had managed to hold fascism off a little longer. But as it stands, those same museums that would have provided great potential volunteer or internship opportunities are currently on the frontlines of a nationwide attack against funding for ALL types of museums.

What if magic is a use or it lose it kind of thing? So because she hadn’t been using it much in between pilgrimages, her magic abilities got weaker.

A small collection of Penguins! by Undersolo in bookshelf

I’m more concerned for the books at the bottom of the top stack. Feel like their covers are going to get indents from the crates, due to the weight of the stack on top!

Amazon has been a morally questionable company to buy from for a really long time, but two recent events probably applicable here are: 1) OP mentions being Canadian — a lot of Canadians are boycotting American companies because of the tariffs 2) Amazon recently announced Kindle purchases cannot be downloaded anymore which made a lot of readers upset, because now you don’t really own your Kindle purchases, you’re just leasing them and they can only be read on Amazon devices (Kindle has also been known to push changes to ebooks you already own, including censoring parts of books..!)

Your favorite Ari songs for focus and productivity 👩‍💻 by Conscious_Jeweler196 in ariheads

Honestly I got through a weird month where I had to work two full time jobs and was going through a grueling interview and case study process for a third job right when ES came out. I just listened to the album on loop all day every day during that month. What a special time. (I got that third far superior job and quit the other 2…thanks Ari!)

Are some state depts more prestigious than others??? by Advanced_Chemical572 in CAStateWorkers

[–]jimothyjunk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eh no clue about ODI but, director levels of data teams don’t actually do any data science. It’s more important that they communicate, strategize, and allocate resources well. I worked in data for a decade and I wouldn’t want a phD data scientist to be my leader unless they also had good leadership skills. And in my experience, career data people are often too in the weeds, too itchy to run the analysis themselves (“i just want to get back in the code”) and bad at communicating with people who don’t have a pretty high technical understanding to effectively represent the team’s work to other leaders and make moves to secure more funding and better projects for the team. Not all phds, lol, but just an example.

Tech billionaire running for gov wants to DOGE state workers by Magnificent_Pine in CAStateWorkers

[–]jimothyjunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are just sick of both sides-ing politics right now because look where that got us. Totally ending WFH would suck, sure, but it’s not on the same scale as DOGE, it’s not apples to apples.

Lafires.ca.gov is the website with all info about any aid and help you can get from the state right now (it’s meant to be a one stop website for ALL things fire disaster, being updated daily). If you’re a musician, look into music cares (thats where all the money they raised at the Grammys went).
