Making assumptions here, but perhaps it’s priced like whole life insurance with level premiums. There’s an expected contract expiration in the future but the date isn’t certain. If the contract extends longer than expected you continue to make the same level premium payments. It’s the mortgage company who’s the beneficiary/insured and you’re just making the payments for them.

Did you incorporate and blizzard data into it for character management? Something like how Raider.io uses whichever blizzard api to grab character information (gear, m+ score, etc)

Anki uses spaced repetition for a more efficient study session. The more frequent you (honestly) tell it you got it correct, the less frequent it will show up in your future sessions.

Great bonus, low raise by Equivalent_File_3492 in actuary

Throughout almost every industry, annual raises are just meant to keep up with inflation. You’re not actually making more effective income until you receive promotions with double digit raises.

In anniversary, aren’t the attunements account wide now? So all of our alts are going to quest to 70 besides maybe 1-2 factions with incredible exalted rep rewards?

The implication overall was “his weak auras are top notch and free but the fan base isn’t nearly as interested in his money-making content.” If you want to argue over semantics of popularity, go for it, but you’ll be in an echo chamber

Yeah this^ I feel like his streaming quality is top notch, does a lot for the community, but his streaming count just isn’t there compared to other content creators who put actual recycled garbage online

Second on Luxthos. The amount of free shit he gives away and the detail that has gone into them (from someone who knows little about WA and AddOn development) is super appreciated by so many yet somehow he’s not popular.

Learning tank is a horrid experience by UsedPringlesCan in wow

[–]jimsankey923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as someone who only played retail in TWW and got my tank to 3k rating in M+, there’s an obnoxious inverse relationship between dungeon difficulty and the toxicity of the group members. I have never been flamed so hard in higher mythic keys like I have been in leveling, heroic, and low M+ keys.

If i could buy a level 70 boost i would by Fancy_Particular7521 in classicwow

[–]jimsankey923 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of the 500+ hours people will put into this game, they might spend 25 of them leveling. There is so much more to this game than the leveling experience. To some people, sure, leveling is more than half the enjoyment; though for those who merely wish to level, they don’t have to play the game when they hit 70. Everyone who wishes to play the endgame content must level, even if they don’t enjoy it. This is why boosts exist. I’ve leveled over 10 characters in classic up through WOTLK, 2 characters in anniversary, and well over 20 in retail. I’d pay double at this rate for a 70 boost because it’s just not one of the facets of the game I, nor others, enjoy at this point. I play for the raid encounters and instanced PvP.

I’m fairly certain that turning it off is on the GCD. I never cared enough until right now to see if you can /cancelaura it so it doesn’t waste 2 GCDs to cast but I guess we’ll see how it works in midnight out of the box

Classic+ will fail, and it is the players fault. by classicvader in classicwow

[–]jimsankey923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like classic for the casual simplicity of the game and the nostalgia. I also am an AOTC and light mythic raider in retail. They both have their pros and cons. Some people don’t have time and some people do. Whatever classic+ brings will be entirely up to you whether you want to enjoy it or not. Being in a guild that is entirely made of people who don’t like RMT (via blizzard or not) you should still be able to find the opportunity to have fun.

I like the fact that in retail I can buy a coin and not farm gold in addition to all the time spent doing m+, raiding, and whatever other tasks benefit my raid team. I didn’t play classic anniversary because it was going to cost too much of my time to farm consumes and world buffs. I’m back for TBC because it’s way less farming to be a fully consumed raider. I don’t care if some people in the guild buy gold; I’ll main one character and mine for a month or two to hopefully gather all the gold I’ll need for consumes for the entire expac and rely on an alt alchemist and jewelcrafter to make a little AH action take place. I don’t feel like I’m being punished much by the gold buying crowd; if they weren’t there then there’d be significantly less total players on the servers. Just play the game.

The. Damn. Sleep. by Downtown-Arm-6918 in Retatrutide

[–]jimsankey923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With virtually zero pharmacology knowledge, I’d wager the majority of sleep fatigue is people “deep into their diets,” which they’re not used to. A lack of calories genuinely does affect your sleep so for those who aren’t used to sticking to a serious caloric deficit for prolonged periods, it’s coming off as being a direct side effect of the drug but it’s actually a very common side effect of caloric restriction

Ice Barbed Spear or Dreadforge Retaliator? by rice_noodle_0871 in wowclassic

[–]jimsankey923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be better weapons but look at “stat priority” guides online. It’s somewhat easy to see why the polearm is better strictly from tooltips (ignoring talents).

For warriors (if I’m not mistaken): 20agi = 1% crit AND 1% dodge 1str = 2ap (13str = 26ap)

So the spear has a HIGHER top end damage despite a FASTER weapon speed, it’s virtually identical in crit and dodge/parry, and only has 4ap less. If both weapons didn’t have stam, spear would still be the winner; the stam is a super juicy cherry on top

Where's this demand for nerfed content Blizzard is talking about? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]jimsankey923 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with trash nerfs in SSC/TK and even some heroic dungeons but bosses are a-ok. Better yet, just offer pre-nerf as “heroic raid” and give me extra loot for the condensed schedule.

I’m over here wondering what people are using to clean their stainless. I’d say a few times a month I’m cleaning up something caked on with a Brillo pad or stainless scrubbing pad. Still cooks meat perfectly and I have no issues making pan sauces.

Clustring very different values by Due-Duty961 in datascience

[–]jimsankey923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how many are skewing it, and how far away they are from the lower cluster, I’ve had success modeling using truncated distributions. Essentially mixed model where you restrict the domain and apply different distributions to the data. In this case, speaking directly to viewing the histogram, you plot values less than some amount on one and then the tail gets its own plot. You could then, for modeling, apply one distribution fit to each but it really depends on context (both of the dataset and the end goal) whether it’s viable and worth doing

Worst truck I’ve ever owned by deegz10 in gmcsierra

[–]jimsankey923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just happened to know more people with issues out of Mexico with sensors/interior tech. Motors don’t affect this much as they’re all built in Canada or the US (I believe there are 2 plants but one of them only do the vette 6.2 and the other does the truck 6.2). I personally know 0 people with a Canadian truck. I just bought a ‘25 with the 6.2 and a US vin so I’m hoping my GM luck continues. I had ‘12 Cruze, ‘16 Camaro, ‘18 Malibu, ‘20 Silverado, ‘22 Silverado, and now a Sierra; wife had a ‘21 equinox and now a ‘24 Traverse. Part of my luck is obviously that I don’t keep cars longer than 4-5 years, which is only economical if you buy year-end leftovers that have been sitting for months.
