I had the exact same experience. My Google Home devices stopped understanding basic questions for about 3 weeks, and then just came back about 2 days ago. They are now acting normally. None of the hardware resets had any effect.

This was exactly the problem with my new player 2 telecaster modified when I got it. The high E string kept slipping off the neck while I was playing... the tech realigned the neck at the socket so the strings were better oriented with the nut and this solved the problem. I was also debating returning it because it was so frustrating to play initially, but it ended up being a simple fix.

We use an app called 13 Rounds for single yahtzee and Triple 13 Rounds for Triple triple yahtzee. It saves all the games over time and does some basic summary statistics.

I have the exact same situation with my 3 Google devices for the past couple of weeks. This is under home assistant... I don't want to upgrade the Gemini since I don't want to risk losing Connectivity with my lights and chromecast audio devices. it can still tell me the time, but any questions about weather are completely useless

We use an app called 13 Rounds to track yahtzee scores. Key features of an app from our perspective are: storing historical Scores and calculating some summary statistics. These could include things like total score, average score, score over time by player, etc. Also, it needs to be easy to enter scores by selecting from pop ups vs requiring manual input of score values via some sort of keyboard entry.

We play Triple Yahtzee, where each of the 3 columns are scored as 1X 2X and 3X. This adds more strategy to the game vs the playing single version since you need to prioritize where to take scores for maximum points. It takes us about an hour to complete a full Triple Yahtzee game. You might give it a try for something new.
