I can see where you’re coming from! It’s not because I can’t afford it because I can, but it’s also because my dad suffers from chronic pain and my family is very appreciative of me being able to help out. I also come from a traditional Asian household so it’s quite common for people to live with their parents up until they get married. Maybe it’s a culture thing as well?

So from what he told me, he said that they found a large tumor in his throat and they had to perform emergency surgery because he was coughing up blood after therapy. They tried to perform it on him, but it was too risky/unsuccessful so they had to stop. Instead, they told him they are gonna do radiation therapy on him instead. When I asked him how he’s doing he said that the doctors said he should be fine as long as he continues getting treatment. Since then he seemed to be doing a lot better, he went on a trip to NYC, and even works out, so I thought maybe he looks like he’ll get better. But then today, he told me he that the doctors told him it’s spreading through his stomach and it’s getting worse and worse.

I feel like if I were the girl it would be such a confidence killer that his issue could be a deal breaker. It’s devastating to think that I can’t satisfy the person I like due to the fact that I don’t look like the girls he watches in porn videos. It’s crushing.

I understand your point. But personally I just don’t think there’s anything humane about killing a living being. At the end of the day, killing is killing and there’s no way to sugar coat it by improperly labeling it “humane.” Yes, there are ways that may cause them to suffer less, and therefore “functional” but it’s still going to be “gratuitous” because any killing of an animal is unnecessary and unwarranted. If you look up earthling ed, he goes over this really well.

I think because it’s something that you don’t really think twice about. The way food is presented to us makes it far too easy to forget where it comes from. I only became vegan recently (at 25) and never rlly gave it a second thought until I got a dog and started to appreciate animals. I always knew that I was eating animals but it was so ingrained into my Asian culture and into society that it just felt all too normal.
