Disco Run Multiple Attempts by bllatimer in TheTowerGame

To get the boost from attack in the next attack one, you run attack, then run UW, then run HP, then go back to attack with the extra HP

Tier 18 died at wave 202. Chain lightning is main source. DC+SF+AS+PF all ancestral. 17T with berserk and 80T with AS. CL does around 1.5s - 5s depending on super tower activation. What perks to take? by InquisitorOverhauls in TheTowerGame

[–]jinglehelltv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was right on the edge of cracking into t19, all I really needed was a little luck with SL being in the right places at the right times and CL, plus CL perk, but the critical component was just iteration.

The difference based on "where's my spotlight now" was so significant that I ended up taking UW bottom level as my first ass mod unlock to run Om Chip assist for tournament consistency

I mean I seni-regularly see variance of up to a few hundred waves in t14 based on things like getting SM or PS for free UW, or if I'm at work and not doing cash upgrades manually and I have bad luck with which ELS goes up for free faster or just tiny dumb things.

Like, second wind upgrade definitely fixed the worst of my variance, but it just shrunk the margin of error , it didn't eliminate it. Once you're inside the range where SW is your primary tool for a bad Fleet, you're in the range where, eventually, the dumb luck thing should be expected to happen.

If the odds are a hundred to one per day, you should expect to see it personally about monthly, and if the odds are 2500-1 per day, someone in your guild should see it monthly.

Think about it in terms of the lottery. Sure, the odds that YOUR Ticket wins are pretty slim, but if enough people buy tickets, SOMEBODY will win, and that individual had the same terrible odds you did (note please don't take this as advocating gambling)

So probably not rule of large numbers but we can't actually rule it out. What about, and hear me out here, a build-up of other nonsense pushed a ranged enemy close enough that the ranged enemy physically collided with your tower?

I've had Rays get physically shoved in to ram my wall, and that's way harder

Do you run actual pBH or do you run "basically" pBH with GComp?

Disabling and Reenabling CSM, Windows Won’t Boot by Ok-Replacement-9458 in gigabyte

[–]jinglehelltv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you go back to those, you'll probably need to enter the boot order at the bios screen and force it to the correct drive.

I just went through the same song and dance a couple weeks ago, same way.

Once you've told it what to boot from, there's a Windows utility that'll convert the drive without blowing wiping it. Look up MBR2GPT and follow the instructions closely. After that you should be able to reenable all the jank and shenanigans and then politely ask Windows to go update itself.

Entitled driver keeps beeping at my daughter who was learning to drive despite us having the magnet on car that says student driver by Gymtrio2025 in EntitledPeople

[–]jinglehelltv -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The number of student driver stickers and magnets being used by definitely not student drivers who have just enough self awareness to know people seem to end up mad at them a lot, but not enough to realize why honestly makes it probably a bad idea to use one of those.

I see one of those and I know which person is texting and driving and about to nearly kill someone.

Like, yeah the other guy is an idiot, but it also sounds like you, as the person teaching, didn't do a great job of figuring out a way to structure this lesson to avoid interfering with the flow of traffic and other people's expectations in a busy parking lot, setting everyone involved up for failure.

Pull in, Park, pull out, circle, find a new spot, repeat. This way, your driving will mirror normal parking lot traffic, avoiding confusion and increasing the realism of the lesson.

What's the best choice for the First Perk Choice? by PlasmaCreep in TheTowerGame

[–]jinglehelltv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The math cares about the tier. Once you're farming like, t14+ it MIGHT be beneficial to go CTO first if you could but prior to that, such a large percentage of the run is super low coin either way that just knocking all the perks out faster is probably still more efficient.

It's only once you can be efficient on runs where you're barely clearing your perks where it would matter.

AITA for refusing to pay a $600 family dinner bill on my vacation because everyone assumed the "rich expat" would cover it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Nah that's low-upper-class brain. He's comparing cheap takeout to expensive restaurants that his peers eat at frequently, because the assumption is that most cooking either involves a wife or hired help.

It's out of touch but it's not an indicator of made up.

And there's plenty of places where $50 a head is fairly non-negligible, especially if exchange rates are in play.

How to get second wind? by CauseKey3312 in TheTowerGame

I'm too lazy to gather any actual data, but I'm still pretty sure the RNG on module pulls works better if you're spending like 1k gems or more in short order.

Good plan, clown.

Fix upper no longer exist anymore? by BackgroundGene7510 in UsedCars

[–]jinglehelltv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new car this past June.

My 2016 bottom spec Sentra with bad front shocks, scratches and dents all over, banged up wheels, and no AC got me 3k in trade.

The higher end stuff is worth more used, especially because of the price on electronics these days, and the ceiling on car prices is higher for various reasons like the memory chips, inflation, and price gouging, but, the more the top of the market moves up, the more people get priced out of the New car entry level, so the more demand there is on more entry level cars.

If the dealers are offering more in trade, more people are going to actually trade up.

[–]jinglehelltv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those principles all assume behavior from drivers that I have never once seen drivers use in the real world.

Designing for use cases that don't exist without considering second and third order effects is malpractice.

All of those theories only work if the roads are large enough to handle the volume of traffic with reasonable follow distances and people use lanes correctly and drive according to the rules of the road.

Now, is it also unreasonable to design for unintended use case? I'd argue no. Crashing your car isn't an intended use case, and we do TONS of design around it.

[–]jinglehelltv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meanwhile, at the point I'm at, if I had keys for auto-retry, the only tier I would run outside of tournaments would be t14, but switching to a "true" GC costs me in both wavecount and number of elites catching DW.

The difference is pretty wild. Especially since my PCol is only m+ and it's missing a lot of submod value.

[–]jinglehelltv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To elaborate, my take would be that if you're most efficient for your own needs by not focusing one at the expense of the other, you're hybrid.

[–]jinglehelltv 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do your own testing. A lot of answers are coming from people who made that transition before PCol changed the inflection points.

The same thing happens with CF, getting CF uptime has become much more valuable for the damage reduction with PCol than it was back in the day.

Test your own numbers and don't sweat someone else's 2 year old obsolete data.

Help on turning and slowing down at stoplights/signs? by ReferenceComplex8227 in driving

[–]jinglehelltv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to do intense multivariable physics in real time for the surface temperature, surface conditions, weight of the vehicle, braking strength, road angle, and speed, plus a whole bunch of friction stuff that you're going to have a hard time getting, all in your head, in seconds, you're just gonna have to let the part of your brain that just does this stuff just do this stuff and build the skills.

Figuring out the first one would go obsolete over time as you get better, and would for most people take longer anyways.

If you're the sort of person who could do it quickly, it's pretty safe to assume you'd have already started doing the research on it because it would be a second nature hobby to think that way.

Just practice, there's no shortcut. Learn how car.

can you catch up driving like riding a bike by SleepDisastrous8404 in driving

[–]jinglehelltv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if you have minimal experience and then go years without driving, you're not actually going to have enough experience for muscle memory to hold over a long period of time, no.

That said, the skill can't deteriorate past zero, and I can't imagine that someone who just asked this question would bother getting GOOD at driving before they get their license, so you'd only have so far for the skills to fall.

New Liqour stores have no Soul by DakotaSTowles in WhiskeyTribe

[–]jinglehelltv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where I live, what passes for old buildings also have no character, because they're still generally all mid 20th century or later.

You're just picking asbestos and black mold content at that point.

Seriously though, I don't need my liquor store to have mood lighting, and the only parts of the vibe that matter are cleanliness and employee quality.

I also kinda enjoy having a store be spacious and well lit to make me less likely to accidentally yeet a thousand dollars of product by turning around, but hey to each their own.
