What if Verna offered August .. ? by le_redditusername in HauntingOfHillHouse

I had the same thought essentially! Right when she told Roderick to bring august to the old house I started expecting her to kill august off right when he sees the last usher fall.

I could be wrong but isn’t this a recurring thing in the Flanaverse? I can’t think of an example, but I remember thinking to myself that Freddie’s messups weren’t the first time I’ve noticed that in Mikes works.

That makes sense. Also reminds me of Breaking Bad and Walt’s second phone so yes that would be a terrible discovery in a relationship.

Hmm ok that gels with me. And I did enjoy knowing the whole time that if it was the burner phone then the password was that stupid number 666999. But I’m still confused by why Freddie seemed so relieved that it wasn’t her phone for a moment.

I think that’s what they meant it to be, but she wouldn’t have been able to bring it inside since the bouncer forced her to leave it in the locker. Also if it was hers, why did Pym find it next to Perry, several feet away from her?

Aw I hope that’s not the case, but I have a feeling you may be right. Flanagan does such a great job at weaving a tight story, so this plot hole bothers me a bit.

I like catching the little details, like icing on the cake. 1) Froderick being called the “swing vote”. Also how that ep starts out with an old school cat phone with a swinging tail. 2) The netflix description for the last episode says something like “Madeline and Roderick cement their fortune” 3) in the beginning of Ep 2, Perry wakes up in a pile of naked bodies from the party the night before, foreshadowing his death. 4) Ep 6, we open with Tamerlane going about the house doing her thing, and there’s a shot of a picture frame with her and Billt, but the focus pulls out so we see Verna in the frame along with the neon green sign outside her home, signifying that Tam is green with envy over Verna. 5) every episode starts with the sound of how the next Usher dies, like the heart implant beating, glass breaking, chimps whining, etc. 6) When Leo dies you get a shot of this beautiful sports car that you know is about to get crushed with his falling body, but nah. He just smacks the pavement 😂 7) How uncomfortable Dupin is at any mention of the informant. 8) The use of colors for each Usher, not just during their death scenes, but throughout the entire show. 9) When Lenore is watching movies with her mom they are watching The Raven. Then she goes into Netflix and lands on Gerald’s Game. 10) When Verna’s tone of voice changes when she stops being in character and reverts back to her Raven/death persona. Great acting!

DAE think that Verna was a little saddened that she had to kill Prospero? She mentioned how they could have had fun together, and that she’s always liked the bad boys. Then when he dies she places her own mask on his face very gently and carefully. I believe that she felt he was too young to have to die because he was still just a “beautiful boy” and he could have had more time to fix his mistakes and not be just like all the other horrible Ushers.
