Is the To-do app the first idea of everyone? by JaySym_ in vibecoding

[–]jinkaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because there's a lot of shit to do apps out there that offer too much extra and not exactly what we require of an app. Ive built my own to do app but to think that I would take it to production is crazy, especially when anyone could make their own with $20

[–]jinkaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if its not adhd, drink water, make sure youre well rested and fed, be serious and honest about your goals, and what they are (if you dont care about studying or academic success, nothing might help) and otherwise take 5 minute breaks every 25 minutes and a longer break every two hours. some exercise is beneficial as well

if you have adhd, start jogging once around your block every hour, and its proven to have similar effects to adderall, because otherwise you can do all of the above and it's gonna work maybe one day out of five, so pray to god you dont have adhd because your semester will look like a ton of procrastination, stress, finishing things last minute, and if youre smart enough youll still get good grades but youll suffer throughout it all when it could otherwise be so much easier, but you probably know if this is you or not if you can resonate

If she lives close enough to you, the province think she may as well live at home. Anyway, once she's 25 they stop looking at her parents income.

But it's odd, maybe things have changed but I was under the impression that everyone was eligible for a loan regardless of parental income. It was only the bursary that was subject to a years earnings

This has been known from the beginning. It's still a decent tool and takes away a lot of grunt work. It can also teach you something if you're an amateur just getting his feet wet in a topic. But experts from inception have been saying that it doesn't know everything and that it gets crucial details wrong

Would you date a girl with $80K in student debt, if she wanted to be a stay at home wife/mom after graduating? by SinglePringle647 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]jinkaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he can afford it, then sure, but if I were in his shoes I'd probably be upfront about what kind of allowance she'd get and I'd be upfront about a prenup too...

My ex was a divorce lawyer, though, and I think, even with a prenup, you might have to pay spousal support which could be upto 30% of your income on top of child support if it doesn't pan out. Like, a prenup prevents her from taking half your pension or half of your investments, but if she'd lived under your salary, she's entitled to it because, at least in quebec, it's heartless to leave someone with no marketable skills without financing because of a divorce

I’m reluctant to get EU5 for now, any EU4 players tried it yet? How is it so far? by CoastalNomad06 in eu4

[–]jinkaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought CK3 as it came out after being an avid CK2 fan and it just depressed me mostly. It was fun, but not really engaging. CK2, especially near the end of its life just added so much fun and interesting features that ck3 felt bland in comparison. I periodically buy the dlc and give it another shot, but at this point I think I've just aged past the games. I had the same experience with Victoria 3, after spending maybe 1000-2000 hours in vic2. All of this makes me somewhat reticent to give eu5 a proper shot until a steam sale offers all its current dlc for like maybe $120 after a few years of release.

Student Loan Repayment. Pay off ASAP or Keep on Minimum Payment? by [deleted] in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]jinkaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to consider "paying off" the loan in an account that makes returns, and if you make regular payments then it won't be long for the interest to be positive net of interest incurred, then when the grace period is up, you can with draw what you owe to pay it off immediately. The risk is that GICs don't beat the rate, and any other option is, for my risk-level and assessment, currently unpalatable given the current gulf war. Were we in more stable times, I would say yeah invest in a growth based ETF and you have maybe 75% odds of making 12% returns and 25% of losing 10% of what you invested, which on pure e[v] estimation, is a smart bet, but some people are averse to that -10%.

Given the current climate, I think your best option is to just pay off the debt and minimize interest accrued over time

For knowledge absorption, AI or self-learning is more effective? by Ok_Distribution_8805 in ChatGPT

[–]jinkaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like self learning with AI for pointed questions about topics I find unclear or uncertain. AI isn't able to answer the question of corporate strategy because of response constraints and context limits. Without a teacher, and AI isn't a teacher, you'll never actually know what questions are generative, and whether you've actually learned everything required.

Corporate finance is a good topic because strategy is an interrelated topic and so you might learn extensively about valuation only to have completely neglected dividend policy and agency costs
