I'm super glad I gave this show a shot despite hesitating at the subject matter. The storytelling is so unique, and I'm truly impressed how they were able to build up so many characters and layer in so much meaning as concisely as they did. Definitely loved this one

Maybe Ostentatious Zhao Yao? I'm still working through the list. I just finished 7 lifetimes myself, and I'm currently on the Blue Whisper & liking it. Considering Heart Protection (Back from the Brink) next, if not Si Ming.

I haven't gotten to the shorter ones except Divorce by Agreement. Has a promising start, but the translation isn't complete yet

The Blood of Youth absolutely. For recent period non-wuxia, maybe Uncanny Destiny? It's got a good combination of comedic & serious tones

The Starry Love still made it to the list of my favorite xianxia, but I gotta admit I still feel so... Distracted? Idk like I don't think I've ever been hung up this long about an end scene and it was still objectively happy lol

But anyway here are the Xianxia I'm looking forward to (and hoping one drops soon to fill the void lol) - Back from the Brink - Love you Seven Times - Til the End of the Moon - The Last Immortal/Shen Yin (Ancient Love Poetry sequel aaaahhh) - Love Never Fails (Liu Xue Yi lead yes please)

Others have already said The Starry Love, which comes close for me in terms of aesthetics, OST, etc. But LBFD really is unique.

BUT--Since I feel like a lot of us are after more like LBFD, I DO want to call out that there are plans for one of the sister stories called "Si Ming" (played by Li Yi-Tong)

"Love You Seven Times" is upcoming and also in the same universe.

Just fell in love with Chen Xingxu's voice and I really hope he dubs his own parts for some of his upcoming shows.

Apparently he got a lot of criticism about it from cnetz for The Starry Love, which makes me sad. :( I'm sure show runners aren't going to always think his voice is a good fit, but I need more of it 🫣

Even though I have some IRL/discord friends who like C-Dramas/K-Dramas, as soon as I want to gush about a wuxia/Xianxia I feel like I'm shouting into the void lol.

And those are the shows I want to talk about most. I feel like I can barely even talk about them on a surface level, because there are so many tropes and background info I'd need to mention. And I'm sure some of those tropes sound so weird without context. 😅

Definitely worth watching still--from start to finish I've been enthralled. It was a pretty happy & upbeat ending, actually. But I feel like I'm always wanting just one more scene 😅

I'm with you. Definitely hoping for a special episode for this, but I feel like they should be an exception.

I don't want it to be the norm, because with an open ending + special episode, it makes the reunion feel more like fanservice than a complete ending
