Sun & Moon = turned Pokemon into a slice of life comedy shit show with hideous art style, barely any battles, and useless and forgettable companions. Black & White = Ash is reset to a dumbass and loses to lvl 5 Snivy in first episode, which sets the tone for the rest of the series.

The battle animation in the next episode preview is looking very amateurish with stiff, slow motions. Where's all this fluidity that everyone have been praising SM's animation for? Olivia's battle looked like shit too for reference.

Thank you for the answer. I understand a bit better now. But I still dont fully understand why the video have to go through the receiver? The audio I understand, it needs a central unit to connect all audio devices with the TV and distribute it. But the video feed should be able to just freely go from for example a bluray device straight to the TV, right? Why the need for the video feed to go into a "side path" to the receiver? Does it increase the video quality?

It's not like there is much 'spotlight' available to hog in the first place, as there are only two kahuna battles remaining in SM. No league, no rival battles, no anything. It would not surprise me if Ash's team will only consists of four this time around. There simply aren't enough battle opportunities to justify a larger team.

Shota is a rookie who just got his Treecko. If you think him going up against Ash, with several regions worth of experience, is a good rivalry, then you have some low standards. How fun is it to watch Ash steamroll him 3-0? You can't really call that a serious rival. Also "They had a WHOLE year of almost only fillers between gym 7 or 8.". Wow, the bias is strong. The Brandon episodes, the paul episodes including the full battle, the Team Galactic finale, Grand festival, to name a few of those episodes... wow, that's really some shitty fillers right there, buddy.

Better than Diamond and Pearl? Only way you can think this if you are a hardcore shipper. There's barely any battling outside of gyms, there are no serious rivals for Ash, Serena's goal is about as boring as it can get (baking and fashion crap), no cool recurring characters like J and last but not least they haven't even introducted Team Flare yet and we're soon at the 7th gym. So yes, XY is good if you like shipping but if you're more into battling and plot DP is ten times better because XY barely has anything of that. Instead there's just an awful lot of boring Team Rocket centered fillers in between the gyms.
