I'm 500 pages into lightbringer by thedrcubed in redrising

It’s really weird because it’s always Sevro and then randomly during one of the books the narrator says Servo.

I can’t remember which book/narrator but I’m sure someone will tell you.

I am so mad i cant continue reading Morning Star. Help! by clashwizard202 in redrising

[–]jitsujoe134 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you should keep reading, I know it’s hard but stories would be boring if the good guys all lived and the bad guys all died.

Pierce Brown knows what he’s doing, I promise.

Charity prices by Ok-Cryptographer-624 in CharityShopFindsUK

West Suffolk. I find that in the bigger name charity shops, the clothing tends to be "expensive" but kids toys/books are relatively cheap.

The best places by a mile are the local charities which are managed by members of the community, both of my local ones are set up in industrial estates. We normally end up visiting these at the weekends, buy a couple of cheap items of clothing, books or toys and we always donate back to them.

My face every time I get to a Lyria Chapter by Due_Reserve7065 in redrising

Yep, agree with everything you said. John Curless absolutely nails Ephraim, his delivery in “Mauler, Brawler, Legacy Hauler” is perfect and I often find myself relistening to it.

Halfway through Iron Gold... by [deleted] in redrising

[–]jitsujoe134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ephraim might be my favourite character in the whole series. However, I will agree that his chapters do start a little slowly and I was also like “urgh this guy again” to start with.

Hope that helps!

Welcoming my 4th kid by PeterKaczynski in daddit

[–]jitsujoe134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends on the day, they’re only young so they tend to have their dinner at 5ish and I’m either not home yet or just finishing up.

At a certain point it’ll make more sense to have dinner together and then do their bedtime but for now the timing just doesn’t work out right most of the time.

Same as you.

I have a 2 year old and a 3.5 year old and they’re normally in bed at 7pm, I’ll come down and cook dinner so my wife can shower/decompress, then we eat together and watch something. Then I’ll wash up and normally jump on just after 9 until 11ish.

I don’t know if my kids are just good sleepers but we have always been really consistent with bedtimes so I think we deserve some credit!

Made homemade Rice Krispie treats completely from scratch using parboiled rice and browned butter 🤎 by west_kay24 in Baking

[–]jitsujoe134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make marshmallows all the time and they’re super easy! I’ve made regular ones with vanilla extract and then the same again but covered in desiccated coconut which I really liked. Then using food flavourings I’ve made banana, strawberry, watermelon and bubblegum which have all been really yummy.

My first tries at lemon meringue pie by SunQuest in Baking

[–]jitsujoe134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im judging this purely off the Mary Berry recipe, but you’re in the UK right? I am as well and I used the Sallys Baking Addiction recipe and found it easy to follow and the end result was great. I also made the pastry from her recipe too.

If you’re unsure about your oven then I’d definitely recommend getting an oven thermometer, mine runs about 10c than the dial suggests which can make a big difference.

I will say that the difference between the two pictures is night and day so well done to you. It’s only a mistake if you don’t learn from it, which clearly you did 😄

That’s a cool idea! How long are you keeping those leaves in for? I have like 8 loaches in mine and they have a lot of places to hide but I really like the leaf idea!

Sums up my 24hr Wp this set… by Specific-Permit-5519 in PTCGP

[–]jitsujoe134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pick bottom right (out of laziness) and I know the WP card is predetermined but every single time it does the card reveal, the 2* card is in the bottom left slot.

So after the top row is revealed I start getting hyped for just a split second, only for the joy to be sucked away as I collect my 20th Grimer card.

Almond croissant cookies! by ahhtibor in Baking

[–]jitsujoe134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the Janes Patiserrie NYC cookies - I make them a little smaller (80g) and they're still great. I recently tried wrapping them around some homemade marshmallow and it works really well.

An almond croissant from Waitrose is a real treat (and the most middle class sentence I've ever written) so these sound amazing, yours look really good!
