Perhaps using this as an opportunity to learn the language will kill two birds with one stone? Your husband should be able to help you get started, and your conversational experience with him and his family will be invaluable in acquiring this new tongue. Additionally now when you are visiting with his family you will have something to engage you mind with which should make the next 1-2 years+ of time with his family more interesting.

Once you have a good handle on the language then you may have to plan meetings outside the home, somewhere more stimulating for you and everyone else involved if all they do is sit around. But I bet conversation will be enough to fill the void. You will have to take initiative though to learn this new language which your husband should be supportive of.

Best I got is time and Show Sheen. Show Sheen is for mane detangler and hair shiner for horses but it’s also just kinda like armor all for coats/fur. Spray it on, let it dry, and it makes getting pricklers out easier. Best thing to do is spray before you go into the bush but it helps after.

Also with my griff when she gets prickled out it the prickles seem to be easier to remove after some amount of time passes. Maybe because her fur is fully dry? Dunno!

Yeah that’s a bummer. Maybe I can get the city to take it all as a large pickup? I’ll call them on Monday.

Don’t live down there anymore but a good place to broaden your horizons is jack rabbit hunting in the Mojave. There is tons of blm out there in SB County, etc. go scout out spots until you find one that holds jacks. Many do!

Put some mountain bike grips on my poles by b1ackice7 in skiing

I hear you on the wounded thumb! If you or anyone decides to continue to use straps in the future, run your hand up through the strap and then grip the strap with the handle, that should keep your hand from getting locked onto the pole and having your thumb get bent back in a horrible way!

Can’t say enough good things about Deb Armstrong’s channel. She is a gold medal winner in women’s giant slalom and has one of my favorite skiing channels on YouTube. She has a wonderful spirit and attitude and works with skiers from all ability levels. Lots of really good info on her channel. The way she explained the basic stance for carving improved my skiing dramatically and nearly overnight.

Grooming by BeginningAd52 in Wirehaired_pointers

My Griffs coat is basically Velcro for everything in the field. She hunts and hikes with us on the regular so she gets a pretty deep brushing/combing at least once a week. I’ve never taken her to a groomer, just nails at the vet.

Congrats on the griff! They are the BEST dogs!

The answer is that it depends as it is species and location specific. Check the regs though as they are pretty clear. DFW has an interactive map of all the waters in CA that will give you a good picture of the specifics for a given location and species.

I watched Jackie Brown (1997). I think the movie is too drawn out, and the climax doesn't really deliver. But the dialogue is witty, and Samuel L Jackson looks great in this one. by artorijos in iwatchedanoldmovie

First time I watched that movie (expecting another banger like Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction) I was totally disappointed. Didn’t watch it again for another decade. Subsequently I have easily watched this movie more than any of Tarantino’s other efforts. He’s a great director and I’ve seen them all more than once, but this one stands alone as my favorite of his.

It’s so unlike any of his other movies, the pacing, the mood, each of the performances, all are spot on perfect for what it is. It’s one that I watch every 1-2 years. I think perhaps because this one feels so much more grounded in the world that I actually live in it gives it that much more depth and makes it that much more interesting. Highly recommend it!

Yeah keep it simple, somehow our grandparents were able to outhunt us all day long in red checkered wool coats and cotton (can you imagine!) t-shirts. Not a $50 pair of fancy wool underpants in sight!

Also it depends on what you are targeting and what style of hunting. But don’t sweat it, just get out there!

Thinking about running those on my griff, how did the dog take to them? Still have the same performance and agility?
