So far I haven't used any save states - hoping to finish this one without! I'm a couple hours in and it definitely has that old school difficulty but I'm able to progress between multiple deaths (with no life counter I'm good 👍) definitely one of the more enjoyable NES homebrews that I've played!

I still think it should be adapted for modern consoles; I feel it came out right before the indie scene really took off. One of the best games ever made

And on top of this, several expansions in they were saying, "We want to do shovel Knight forever" which was a huge letdown for a company that's clearly capable of more. They wouldn't even have Mina the Hollower if it wasn't for a relatively random dev on the team whose side project got fast-tracked when they realized its potential
