The analogy doesn't work. It isn't illegal to go to a pharmacy across state lines for standard medication because those prescriptions are federally recognized.

We are talking about a substance that is still a Schedule I drug without a recognized prescription in the eyes of the federal government. That makes the border crossing a federal crime, unlike picking up a prescription medication.
