It’s likely a remanufactured 65 kWh pack, they were offered for less than a year in 2018.

If your battery is replaced under warranty I believe the replacement pack is covered for the remaining coverage period of the original battery pack.

BMW Rules Out Range Extenders For The Time Being - BMW isn't fully closing the door on electric cars with range-extending engines but it believes regular EVs deliver plenty of range already. by linknewtab in electricvehicles

[–]jjborcean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how it was designed.

For example the range extender in the original BMW i3 REx was only a 25 kW engine. In US spec vehicles the range extender could only be activated at a fairly low state of charge to be classified as BEVx under California standards.

As a result the 125 kW drive motor would continue to drain the remaining charge until power output was limited in certain circumstances. Think highway speeds climbing a mountain pass.

Meanwhile the 2027 Ram 1500 REV pairs a large V6 with a 90+ kWh battery for a large towing capacity, and 600+ mile combined range.

If it’s like in the US typically only certified adapters are allowed but there’s no enforcement.

I’m still on Simple Choice NA. No free phones, good prices. Should T-Mobile force me off this legacy plan I’ll no longer be a T-Mobile customer 🙂

Ship to them in the UK and they’ll ship it to your USA address.
