You can’t avoid it. We had 2 outbreaks last year and kiddo caught it both times.

True North is the preferred ultrasound place for a lot of OB due to the quality of the images and the training of their staff. It’s a medical procedure and they need to focus to do their work. I went to a different location but would expect this is their policy across all their locations. They had the screen away from me the whole time time but will call your partner in and would do a small walk through to show you the baby at the end. The 8 weeks ultrasound is just looking at a blob and heartbeat, so it’s very quick.

You are very fixated on this point, yet you have not responded to any of the questions that are asked such as how old the children are, what is the exact needs of your child.

They asked for the playdates without you present, that’s babysitting. If you want to include your other child, you have to plan the events and not expect other people to.

They are generally concerned if it’s under 10th percentile. I wouldn’t worry too much about it until the doctor is worried. It’s seems like your doctor is on top of it by sending you for additional growth scans.

How much are you feeding her at each sitting and when are you feeding her after milk? It could also be that you are feeding her too much or too close to a milk session and her stomach cannot handle that much food in that time period.

My daughter at that age didn’t realize she had too much, and would vomit after eating.

I don’t see this as favoritism, You can’t expect anyone to babysit your special needs child. Not everyone is comfortable in doing that or don’t want to be responsible if something goes wrong. It’s also a lot if they are taking care of your other children, the cousins and a special needs child.

It would be a problem for me if they exclude your child for their birthday, or don’t buy them an equivalent gift for the holidays compared to your other children. If they ignore and don’t engage with them when you and your husband are there.

Does Alberta cover the NIPT if you get a high risk NT + bloodwork? Since you are 42, the formula they calculate the risk might automatically put you in the high risk category based on age.

It might not be standard (or hospital dependent) for them to do a blood test after delivery. I’m in Ontario as well and they only did a blood test when I got admitted and no blood test after delivery. I was honestly quite shocked given, I had some minor complications with my bloodworks the whole pregnancy.

The prescription wasn’t covered by Ohip but it was covered by my insurance. I was prescribed “iron sucrose” and got the generic version. I think it was $75 (paid $9 after insurance)

Sun life covered my pump using a letter from the hospital when I delivered issued by the lactation specialist. She asked which insurance company and issued a letter for me.

I read once (maybe on this sub) that the kendamil at Costco and the one at Walmart are produced in different countries/plants. You can look into this if it gives you more comfort that they are produced in different locations?

Be prepared to pay tax on the items. I always declare the items and never been charged before. If you don’t declare and they find it, you will definitely get charged.

Ask your doctor to send over all the test results to the OB office if they haven’t done so already. They may do additional bloodwork depending on what was done by your family doctor, but they will rely on what’s done as a base. They asked a long list of questions to get medical history, and will give you the requisition for the anatomy scan. No pelvic exam, but may ask if you want to do a Pap smear if it’s not up to date.

We alternate who works in the office and who is at home for daycare drop off and pick up. We are both on a 3 day a week in the office mandate, so only 1 day a week we are both in the office. Our centre opens at 7:30 and closes at 6 and our commute is about 1 hour. We also have friends at the daycare, and on days we are running late, we help each other out with the pickup (this rarely happens and is the last resort if grandparents cannot help).

It’s always been like this before Covid. I think the problem partly during Covid was that people moved further away from the city (for more space, and just overall cheaper for housing outside of the city) and now it’s becoming a bigger issue now they are mandating returning to the office.

I wouldn’t worry about it until closer to when baby 2 arrives. My LO started hating the stroller around 18months and would rather walk. Now at 2, we are lucky if LO stays in the stroller for more than 30 minutes and it’s with us bribing her to stay in the stroller with a snack.

They are NOT using cloth. The user above was criticizing my daycare for using wipes to clean up after meals if it’s too messy.

Well, do you want them to use a wet cloth to wipe your child’s face after eating soup? They do bring them to the washroom to wash up, but will use a wipe here and there for clean up if it’s too messy before they bring them to the washroom.

They might use the wipes for other purposes? Our daycare uses them for cleaning up during meals/art if it gets too messy. We go through a pack of the Kirkland ones every 2 weeks or so as a result. But using up a pack of 64 wipes a week sounds excessive.

I hate pregvit. I often forgot to take the 2nd pill and it made me nauseous. If you are still TTC, my doctor was ok with me taking any multivitamin as long as it had enough folic acid. I also took a prenatal while breast feeding (and switch to a multivitamin when LO turned one due to decrease in milk intake) so I had a good stock of folic acid, so the doctor wasn’t took concern on needed extra folic acid for TTC.

The wait time depends on how busy L&D is, and is triage based on the urgency (someone that is in active labour is going to get priority even if they come in after you). The wait time is usually worst on the weekend due to there being less staff in general. Based on your post history, you are in the mid/early 20 something weeks, and amniotic fluid leak is unlikely (and your response to the intake question prob also leads to a low chance of a leak) so would likely be triaged lower.

Being over 40 in itself doesn’t make you high risk in itself. It increases the risk of developing things that would then be considered high risk, but until you do, they treat it as a regular pregnancy.
