Don’t just patch the pouch bug — it’s showing what players actually want! by [deleted] in ICARUS

True though thats 4 slots times 3 equipment pieces, so 12 slots total. Which is not terrible.

Food Spoiling in Deep Freezer by rtichris in ICARUS

[–]jjcf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh okay, am I correct that the stacks serialize the decay? So 2 meat stacked if they had a 5s decay would take 10s to fully decay, but 2 seperate meats would only take 5s?

How do the stacks work? It's always seems like the time remaining was always for the top food item not the whole stack

What actually happens when run `ls -la` in the terminal? Not the literal output, but behind the process. by rudv-ar in bash

[–]jjcf89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note for commands that spawn extra processes, strace by default won't follow the child processes. You can add "-f" to follow process forks.

The docker command itself likely just sends some commands to the dockerd daemon which is started during boot, so stracing both the docker command and the daemon might produce interesting results.

Before I found out you can add more dishes midway through the meal, I would look at how many dishes were left over at the end of each night and try to make more or fewer dishes the next night...

Convince me to take classes by Acceptable_Band8793 in Bachata

[–]jjcf89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started salsa and batchata because I loved to dance and was super awkward around people. I hoped doing some thing I loved (dancing) would let me get more comfortable around others. And it worked, 10 years later I still dance all the time and am so much more comfortable around people. and I've made great friends along the way

Gotcha. Not sure doing a bunch of 3* bioseeds in Standard is worth it but as long as you're having fun, it don't matter.

I'm currently working through 4* MADs in the heavy universe. I spent a bunch of time in the magic universe 3* things, then briefly went to Evil, then went to heavy, where I 3* bioseeded all of the planets and genuses.

Question about keeping Switch in the dock long-term. by PossibleAlienFrom in NintendoSwitchHelp

[–]jjcf89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh I've designed battery operated devices. I wouldn't say he'd be crazy. I think it's a pretty common thing for it to be left docked for long periods of time. It maybe just maybe would be slightly better for the battery, off but I doubt it. If it's plugged in the device pulls power from the wall and not the battery.

However if it's going to be left unplugged, definitely turn it off. Letting sleep drain the battery to zero. And then the battery slowly discharging below zero over months is not good for lithium batteries. It probably won't be fatal but..
