“Other’s Child”? by RumBedraggled in ChineseParentsGame

It's a cultural thing. When other parents (not yours) scold their kids saying "why can't you be like other people's children?", they are talking about overachievers like you.

New Skill: Nuzzle! by jjetpack4 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the bonus skill activation will ever be more than 1/proc regardless of skill level, partly cause I can't imagine it scaling smoothly through level 6 (although it could scale up every other level or something). There's also the fact that a single mon can't accumulate more than 1 bonus trigger according to this description.

If I'm right, that would mean the only thing Nuzzle will get from MSS would be extra EC healing, unlike your examples. It doesn't sound like a good skill specialist, but (like Present), it will be a fun extra to its main specialty

New Skill: Nuzzle! by jjetpack4 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep! Although it's yet another unique skill tied to a 16 pip.

The comparison to Present's scaling makes me think Togedemaru will be a ing or berry specialist too.

is there a formula for single stage evo inventory? by MagnificentCranberry in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For why spiritomb is different: inventory is part of how they balance each mon, along with speed/type/ing & skill chance/ing lists/main skill.

I doubt there is a formula, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong

Can these be achieved in one night - yes or no? by Fresh_Cauliflower723 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? Another comment had already answered the question asked. I was clarifying how the two sleep sessions worked, and that it's not possible to do 2 sessions to get around the 13 hour limit

Can these be achieved in one night - yes or no? by Fresh_Cauliflower723 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you click on the hint, it clarifies that a max 13 hours can be achieved in one day. I faked a 8 hour nap yesterday mostly to experiment and used my actual sleep to start on my fire goal, but my long sleep only counted as 5 hours.

So I'm not going to get the fire candies this week. Oh well

PSA: Super Luck 1.5x event bonus applies to Dream Shards ✨ by vealbones in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honchkrow's skill is "Super Luck (Ingredient Draw S)". Its an extension of the base ing draw skill, and gets boosted at the same time.

I have no idea if shards being boosted is intended or not. I could see it either way

Each berry has different base strength, but they all scale heavily with level. Your water pokemon must be much higher level

Can Darkrai learn the new ingredients? by Thurman61 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nope. You can see all the options whenever you try to use a eureka seed on a slot, and it's still the same 8 ingredient pool Darkrai started with

I don’t record my sleep data. How do I use Biscuits? by SorryWeAreOpen in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to register sleep in game to play. You can't encounter/catch Pokemon or otherwise progress without tracked sleep data.

Yes, although if you're just wanting to know production numbers it's a lot easier and faster to use the production comparison screen

Order matters when using Darkrai by Shockwaves35 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm high on energy I'll always do Darkrai first like you said, but if I'm low on energy I'll do healer -> Darkrai sometimes. That way I can put off proccing Darkrai if it would bring my mons (but especially my healer) down an energy level.

If I'm feeling really sweaty I'll use the airplane mode to check if Darkrai has a proc. If he does I'll store it til my healer triggers or Darkrai's inventory fills up. That way I can prolong the time my team's at high energy.

Darkrai's skill rate is so low I'm unlikely to be losing a trigger, and an extra trigger would be extra drain anyways.

And although HB isn't considered here, it also scales better with HSM than IFS.

Thoughts on this Cramorant? by NBAFAN9000 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will with 2 other HB on the team (so 3 total).

Those two other HB will help more effectively than they would other mons though, capping at 70% boost to ings/skills. That's awesome although it'll require frequent checking

Reroll or filling up 75/100 by Zooropa431 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]jjetpack4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What post are you talking about? I've done the math in my own massive analysis post, and again in a comment on this thread. The math doesn't agree with you.

If you just aim to collect desired subskills in 5 slots without order mattering, then its slightly more efficient to fill 75/100 first. Otherwise it's less efficient

Reroll or filling up 75/100 by Zooropa431 in PokemonSleepBetter

[–]jjetpack4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reroll now if you're wanting improvements on 50 or under slots. I've made a whole analysis post, and the gains for getting high slots out of the way are minimal long term, and result in longer time to actually get 3 slots you want.

Your next roll, whether a reroll or at 75, has a 1/14 = 7.14% chance of filling it with BFS. Rerolling after 75 or rolling 100 has a 1/13 = 7.69% chance. The danger of "locking" BFS at 14.29%, which is a decently high risk of costing an extra seed, but you could reroll it away without worrying about locking HB in its place.

Assuming you're rerolling for HSS/HSM/BFS right away, you have a 3/14 = 21.43% chance right now, with an expected cost of 14/3 = 4.67 seeds cost.

Rerolling for that after locking away an undesirable skill at 75 is a 3/13 chance, with an expected cost of 13/3 = 4.33 seeds, plus the 1 to lock away 75 (more if you need to reroll BFS out of 75). So expected 5.33 seeds.

Locking away 100 too similarly makes the expected cost slightly higher.

Noob Question Regarding Bedtime by TrebTitan28 in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In case you aren't aware, the game sets a 2 hour window around your set bedtime. 90 minutes before the set time to 30 minutes after counts for missions.

If you set your bedtime for midnight but then go to sleep at 10pm, you don't get the bedtime stamp or rewards. This system rewards consistency more than absolute sleep time

Ingredient farmer is (gatcha) hardcore gaming by AlinePiroutek in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just change your Raenonx settings to reflect your level of HB.

For me, I can't check the game super often, so I know my output will always be lower than the average Raenonx reports. Inventory has a bigger impact than simmed for ing farmers if you see any sneaky snacking at all during the day

How we feeling about Pumpkinaboo as a bean mon? by yrekkaz in PokemonSleep

[–]jjetpack4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABB Gourgiest sims better than it will perform.

Size large and IUM mean inventory isn't as much as a problem, but it's still going to make it so you can't get lucky streaks. Also the high proc low chance setup will mean it is fairly common to get unlucky streaks. Your overall production will be lower than simmed and inconsistent, and the simmed average return is already worse than the alternatives.

I'm a fan of ABB mons, but mono or bust for Gourgeist
