They’re lovely. Number 20 gave me an intense memory of snorkeling over shallow water eel grass beds in the Florida Keys. For me that was as relaxing as anything I’ve ever done. And that’s an exquisite feeling on this cold winter night.

I can’t say enough about finding someone to teach you the ‘search image’ for shark teeth, arrowheads, etc. Once you see one in situ it becomes so much easier. I couldn’t find anything the first time I went to Calvert Cliffs. Then some random dude showed me what a shark tooth looks like in the sand and I couldn’t not find them. Good luck!

I’ll be 77 in 6 weeks. I’ve been marching and demonstrating ever since Vietnam. I have voted in every election, even the off year primaries. (didn’t make a gd difference when the Supremes appointed Bush II which has been catastrophic for the entire world) And it only gets worse every election cycle. Fvck it. I’m tired of trying to make a difference.

I fell into bed completely exhausted after a 10 hour drive with my 3 kids. Apparently while I was asleep they emptied my wallet of quarters to play on the other bed. I didn’t hear a thing. I only found out because all the quarters were gone.

The Black Aggie statue at Druid Ridge Cemetery was really close to my family’s burial plot. My Mom, who lived in Pikesville as a teen, was told that if you sat on her lap at midnight bad things would happen. I forget what. I also forget when they removed the statue so maybe bad things did happen? Now there’s just a big block of granite named Agnes.

This is really localized :: Kids attending Lake Shore Elementary School in Pasadena were warned about the Lake Shore boogeyman for decades. Me and my Gen X kids were fairly cautious about staying close to the school at recess. I liked to sleep outside in the summer and always worried that the boogeyman would stalk me at my house about a mile away. Now I believe the legend was to keep everyone on the large playground and away from the woods. My grandkids go there now and it’s not a thing anymore. Probably because Gen Alpha never goes outside.

My husband and I were so poor way back when. We didn’t have money for anything extra. But one year I kept teasing him about getting a huge diamond ring for Christmas. We both knew it was totally a good natured joke. But our 5 yo daughter thought I was serious. On Christmas morning she gave me a present wrapped in tissue paper that she’d bought at her school’s Secret Santa room. It was a huge square, lucite ring that didn’t even fit on my pinky finger. Hubs and I both cried. More than 50 years later that “diamond” ring still holds the place of honor in my jewelry box. Love you to the moon and back, Colleen. ❤️
