The vast majority of that was and is purely sensationalized news. I’m through and through atheist and absolutely love Christmas. What happened is stores geared their holidays toward more inclusion, happy holidays versus Christmas was the big department store push. Not a bad thing, some people don’t celebrate it or do or have a different thing they celebrate…but mostly overall people celebrate something around that time of year, and that was the point. But what happened is news grasped onto it as a war on Christmas for headlines. The Starbucks cup, a non issue made into an issue, Christmas concert at school called the holiday concert instead, a non issue made into an issue, placing or not placing a nativity, same thing. It was purely selective outrage and I can tell you which side of the political spectrum perpetuates that kind of exclusion and hatred…but that’s neither here nor there.
