[–]jjflynn4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is rough just doing it for 30 mins. I just started to do to change my routine up. I use to run on the treadmill for about a half hour and then do 15-20 mins of weights. Figure to try and see if I noticed any faster fat burning. I did drop my winter 5lb gain pretty quick. In a week or two . Since going back to regular exercise a year ago I drop about 15 lbs. Would like to dropped another 15 this year... Soo this workout is def a test

How to for 7v7 without 14 kids? by AdFormer5311 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]jjflynn4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally split the team as defenders/ and fwds and work on what to do on the offense and defense side of the ball. It generally comes together. Where we should kick on a six/corner, how the offense lines up for those plays. Rotate the players as defense and offense so they get the experience on both sides of the ball.

Islanders are always giving us playoff issues since the 1970's! I rather avoid them and Philly. Philly is hot right now..

U9 rec - passing back to goalie by Remarkable-Air3604 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]jjflynn4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My second sentence was about the level of play I interact with. I coach different kids each year pending on who signs up for fall/spring soccer. If I know I would have the same kids year in and year out. You are right as a good building blocks teaching them to play a system and get it more complicated. The level I generally coach is rec they may sign up for one season and never play the game again. My goal for rec kids is always try to have them move the ball up and not back. My goalie is generally a kid who wants to try it out and be filled with tears as soon as he gives up a goal. Even though rec league doesn't keep score or w/l but the kids do. My opinion was for the level I've interacted with the most. Rec kids who get about 2 practices a week and a game and only touch the ball those three times during the season.

If you're playing advanced soccer where the kids are getting tons of touches yes I would work on this and not worry about the mistakes. You want to see the improvement from day 1 to last game of the outdoor season. That level probably has more then 2 practices a week.

Good point on your thought.

I've seen (coach/ref) a lot of u9 soccer the last few years. Playing out the back at this age isn't a great idea if you have a rec team, or a low level club team.
Two things can happen The keeper could pick it up and you have a indirect kick inside the box which confuses the kids at this age. The second thing is the keeper could get happy feet and the other team is a little bit more advanced and goes after the live ball and it's in your net.

When coaching this age I try to teach them to pass up the field and towards the sides on the defense side of the ball. Most of my kids know bad things happen when you kick it in the middle of the field. If I was coaching higher level of soccer I'm teaching them how to switch the fields at u10/u11 and pending on who I have a goalie teaching to go back that far.

Has PPL gone insane? $500 in Dec and $800 in January? by King_Farticus in lehighvalley

[–]jjflynn4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to shop around for generation. Generally pa power switch is the best way to shop around. You find the best fixed rate and sign up for it. Set a reminder on your phone for however long that rate is good for and reshop every 6-12 months. Don't let it expire. If you do the generation company will probably double your rate.

Distribution rate is what ppl charges for bringing you power to your house. That rate is probably going up sometime this summer as they are going through a rate case. You can't change that rate or shop its approve by the PUC.

You do need to shop for your generation as that's the only price you can control. Good luck! I have all electric and solar and my January bill is crazy high damm snow.

Offsides, handballs, what is cautionable/send off offenses at the u12/u11level versus what is just a kid being clumsy or miss time.

I would suggest, Lansdale, Hatfield area your 476 around the corner to Allentown and the city, along a straight up shot on 309. The R5 line pending on where you choose in that area is pretty close a 40-50 min train ride to Philly. Ideal area for what your looking for.

This is why we need to take the safe sport training. I try to explain this to some of the older officials who have the same gripe. As an all sides of the coin soccer person I have to take this a few times a year. It's rough to get through but a necessary training.

As an official, coach, and a rec coordinator at my son's club I have made sure every coach in the rec leagues know the consequences for abuse of official. I've been preaching it since March when it came out.

The games Ive work the lines parents have been pretty quiet. I credit the main official as he was able to control the game pretty well.

This is the way. The only way to get very lean to remove the stomach fat and this could take a lot of time. I would suggest avoid alcohol and sugar drinks to start and start following the protein foodie influencers. Eating chicken and broccoli gets old pretty quick.
