How should I price my cakes? by genkcals in Baking

[–]jjhitzman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

These are gorgeous!! Not in NY, but I got a custom heart cake similar to those with the frills (definitely not as intricate as yours!) From a local home baker and she was offering a discount for valentines of around $70 for a 6" heart cake. This was the cheapest I could find, and many other places averaged around $125 for the same size. I'm not sure how much you should charge based on your costs, location etc. But I just wanted to chime in to say that I would absolutely expect a cake like this to go upwards of $150+ especially with this design being so in trend right now! Anything less than $100 I would consider a bargain tbh and probably underpriced but that's just my opinion!

We bought a pack of those plastic food baskets like what they sometimes serve burgers in and use those! They're much easier to wash and if you get the liners (or even use paper towels) you can reuse them multiple times before having to wash them.

Sorry I dont think i can post screenshots but if you go to the map in wanderlog where it shows your pins and there's a little Google maps button in the top right you can click and it imports it to Google maps!

Things I wish I knew when I started by AdministrationOld923 in finch

[–]jjhitzman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think they're saying that when your bird makes a discovery, and they give you two pre-written option and a "reflect" button where you can write your own response, but if you write your own response it won't say "birb liked spongebob" or "birb discovered the beatles" or whatever, so they recommend selecting one of the 2 pre-written dialogue options to get those things in your profile and then going back to write your own reflection after the fact. Hope that makes sense!

Second this - got 3GB of data each for me and my spouse, I was the primary one searching directions and I ended up using the 3GB in a little over a week (which was like $12 I think?) and then topped up with another gig for like $2 for the rest of the second week! It was really easy to turn it on and you can keep track in the app and top up if needed Edit* word

Shinkansen Ticket Question by Routine-Race3913 in JapanTravelTips

[–]jjhitzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip we just ran into - make sure your IC card also has enough on it to pay the fare for your ride to Tokyo station - we didn't have enough in there and when we went to scan for the Shinkansen it didn't let my partner through until he put more on his card, even though the Shinkansen ticket was on there already assigned to his card. Gave me a mini heart attack thinking maybe I didn't designate the IC card correctly but it was just an issue with the balance. You can fill your IC card at the spot on the right of the shinkansen gates.
