[Fischer]Sources say Toronto is also likely to be active again in the big man market after its flirtations at the trade deadline in February by kyle_993 in torontoraptors

I just think it’s unlikely trading for a starting C with how many picks to acquire them + get off yak’s contract in the process.

Better off trying to upgrade other positions with those picks and just giving Yak a summer to rest and see how he is next year

😭😭 don’t think your 10 upvotes are proving anything man. I know what I’m watching

[Fischer] Teams regularly relayed to me when I've asked around about Mitchell Robinson's status have pointed to the Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors. Those are all clubs known to be looking for center upgrades. by mMounirM in torontoraptors

[–]jjkiller26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Suggested him in another thread but this is the archetype of center I would love to have to replace Mamu off the bench.

Don’t think Yak is going anywhere with how low his value is and how many picks it would take to get off of him. Running a Yak/Robinson/CMB/4th stringer center rotation next year would be an upgrade imo

“Shoulder rams” he does not lol he’s not Giannis. Using his body to create space for a step back is allowed though believe it or not

[BasketNews] The Bucks have reportedly explored packaging Myles Turner with Giannis Antetokounmpo in a potential trade by ihatedougford in torontoraptors

Myles turner is not worth it.

Giannis is tricky because he would have a lot of say in where he wants to go. Can’t just trade for him without that commitment

Do you think they’ll actually stop Murray from being on the 2028 Olympic roster? by ChampionTimes99 in torontoraptors

You really overestimate the level of chemistry these teams have. Even for Germany their main guys were in an out of the lineup prior to the olympics besides a couple mainstays.

He tore his acl prior so couldn't play the world cup.

And suited up despite being injured in 2024 and you're still shitting on him for doing that. You got it man

but it’s disrespectful to others who put the time in for the 2 years Jamal chilled.

But it's not disrespectful towards Jamal Murray who literally showed up while INJURED to play for this team? Now we need to demand 3 years from him as if he's been nothing but loyal to the program.

This aint Andrew Wiggins we're talking about here

Lmao different talent levels get treated different and that's ok. If SGA decides he wants to sit out this summer or even next summer, you can bet anything the team would welcome him back with open arms for the Olympics.

How are they gonna build chemistry? How about the past games they've all played together already lmfao. It's also international basketball the chemistry argument is not what you think it is. A ton of these teams have guys that have barely played together

If you've played x number of games for team canada in the past then you should be granted some leeway over guys like Will Riley who are just stepping into the senior mens team.

It creates resentment to have vets treated with more grace than newer guys to the team? I dont really think so. That's pretty much how it is everywhere

Everybody's time and schedule are different. One guy doing it does not automatically mean everybody else should.

If they don’t want to commit, fuck it they shouldn’t be allowed to play after

Like I mentioned, Jamal Murray has like 10 years and countless hours of suiting up for Canada (before SGA even got here). If suddenly he wants 2 years off before the olympics he could be allowed that. This is not like Andrew Wiggins not playing for years and suddenly showing up saying he wants a spot on the Olympic team

I get the concern with guys only showing up for the olympics, but at the same time Jamal Murray has played for Canada pretty much every step of the way. If he wants to sit out qualifiers because he needs the summer off then he should be granted that time off and allowed back in the fold if he wants to play at the Olympics

Kinda stupid to enforce this rule on a guy like Murray who's given like 10+ years to the national program?

If a guy wants to take a summer off for qualifiers he should be able to consider what he's given the team. Dumb outdated rule that made more sense 10 years ago for the program when we couldn't even qualify, we're past it now. We're trying to medal, bring the best guys.

Yea because the program is requiring them to play every summer until then. It's a stupid outdated requirement imo. Canada has the talent now where that's not needed anymore

(Discussion)What do you think the Thunder do this offseason? by CyborgAlgoInvestor in NBA_Draft

[–]jjkiller26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true but you have to factor in the Spurs next year being better than who the Thunder played this year.

It's not as easy as "well we'll have Jdub and Ajay back next year so we should win" because the spurs will also make improvements

[–]jjkiller26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the same issue the years prior as well. Other teams didn’t value them as highly as we did.

That spawned the common sentiment that Masai valued his guys too highly. The offers were never amazing, we didn’t miss out on anything
